Hello everybody! 🙋‍♀️ Today is Online Romance Day!!

On PPG there are several couples i know about!!! 🥰🥰❤️❤️💌💌👩‍❤️‍👨👩‍❤️‍👨 But online are also other sites and apps like Tinder for example.

Maybe it is nice to talk about some questions about it so i made them, BUTTT if anybody has another question about online romance you can add them below of course!! 🙂

1️⃣ Did you ever have a relationship online on PPG or Tinder or smt else? And if yes or not: would you like that in the future?

I always met in public places like bars or restaurants. Never had a problem. But i dont meet the first day...can pass months until i feel its enough and also the other person

I still think it is brave that you did that. I would be frozen like an icecube if you meet in real life and they talk to you. But i think after maybe time you feel more comfortable and that you can talk more like it is chatting on internet but not immediately when you meet!!!

To be honest, I don't like Online dating. Not only on Penpal Gate, but on other websites. But what I'm about to say is about here on Penpal Gate.

Because here, many people have profiles that look friendly or come from a country I'm really interested in, but when I send them a message, they don't respond (some have seen them and never replied! 👀)... So when I check out their profile, I realize they only have profiles of the opposite gender as friends... Which makes it very easy to guess their real intentions. (One time I even received messages that made me really uncomfortable)

If on the profiles I see that it was just one relationship with another, well, fine, but if it's at the "woman/man farming" stage, to the point of ignoring others' messages, I feel it becomes really awkward, and to some point, quite hurtful.

Need I remind of the main goals of Penpal Gate :

But for me, Penpal Gate is a cultural friendship/discovery site, so online dating somehow ruins part of my personnal and cultural experience discovery on this website.

1️⃣ No, and I'll never do. I think online dating is not viable, it only depends on one network, you cut it and it's over.

3️⃣ Honestly, I don't know. It's already very rare for people online to meet in real life, especially if one lives on the other side of the planet.

1. No I didn't and I don't think I will. Its not really my thing I think, I'd prefer real life and someone who lives close so we can meet up a lot.

2. That you know the other person is real ofc, not a catfish and that you meet up so you know if you match in real life too!

3. Yes, because of the catfish thing & also my online-persona is different from my real life one, I'm much more quiet etc or if I really get to know you or am really happy that day I will be SUPER weird and annoying so I'd fear that we wouldn't get along in real life even if we get along online....

I didnt have a relationship online yet but also not in normal life tbh. In the future yes maybe but only if you know somebody really well and can trust that person and feel comfortable and safe. And in that case it can be online or in normal life but only if you can also meet and that the match is also in normal life and not only online.

2️⃣ What do you think is important for online relationships?

I think the most that you feel comfortable and safe. And also that you can meet in normal life AND that it is a nice match in real life too.

3️⃣ What do you do to be safe and do you think it is super scary to meet somebody from online?

If i know somebody only online and i really trust that person i would that person with my mom or somebody i can really trust. And not alone until you feel comfortable about it and that you can trust it.

No but i would like to say that i understand if people say that PPG is not a dating site bc i think most people dont want that at all or at least not most of my friends i think. BUTTTTT i know now several couples who are super lucky bc they DIDDD find their partner on PPG and met each other also in real life. So they did prove that it CAN work in a very nice way!! 🥰🥰 But i think PPG is most about making friends and talk about nice stuff. And if it becomes a relationship that is also super nice and romantic!! ❤️
