To be honest, I don't like Online dating. Not only on Penpal Gate, but on other websites. But what I'm about to say is about here on Penpal Gate.

Because here, many people have profiles that look friendly or come from a country I'm really interested in, but when I send them a message, they don't respond (some have seen them and never replied! 👀)... So when I check out their profile, I realize they only have profiles of the opposite gender as friends... Which makes it very easy to guess their real intentions. (One time I even received messages that made me really uncomfortable)

If on the profiles I see that it was just one relationship with another, well, fine, but if it's at the "woman/man farming" stage, to the point of ignoring others' messages, I feel it becomes really awkward, and to some point, quite hurtful.

Need I remind of the main goals of Penpal Gate :

1. No I didn't and I don't think I will. Its not really my thing I think, I'd prefer real life and someone who lives close so we can meet up a lot.

2. That you know the other person is real ofc, not a catfish and that you meet up so you know if you match in real life too!

3. Yes, because of the catfish thing & also my online-persona is different from my real life one, I'm much more quiet etc or if I really get to know you or am really happy that day I will be SUPER weird and annoying so I'd fear that we wouldn't get along in real life even if we get along online....

I didnt have a relationship online yet but also not in normal life tbh. In the future yes maybe but only if you know somebody really well and can trust that person and feel comfortable and safe. And in that case it can be online or in normal life but only if you can also meet and that the match is also in normal life and not only online.

I think the most that you feel comfortable and safe. And also that you can meet in normal life AND that it is a nice match in real life too.

If i know somebody only online and i really trust that person i would that person with my mom or somebody i can really trust. And not alone until you feel comfortable about it and that you can trust it.

No but i would like to say that i understand if people say that PPG is not a dating site bc i think most people dont want that at all or at least not most of my friends i think. BUTTTTT i know now several couples who are super lucky bc they DIDDD find their partner on PPG and met each other also in real life. So they did prove that it CAN work in a very nice way!! 🥰🥰 But i think PPG is most about making friends and talk about nice stuff. And if it becomes a relationship that is also super nice and romantic!! ❤️

1️⃣ yes but soon I figured out nothing beats spending time with the person irl. I would want to have quality one on one time with them, and not just through screen convos. long distance relationship isn’t for me haha

2️⃣ for people in online relationships, I think it’s essential to have clear communication and consistency. to gain trust completely before meeting them irl, setting realistic future goals so the future won’t be delusional and clueless

3️⃣ what do I do to be safe? fully get to know them (months or years haha), have video calls, and connect through all social medias to make sure that they aren’t catfishing cause safety always comes first

1. I am not made for online relationships at all but I am okay with meeting people online and then meeting them in real life shortly after. I have done that one week after and generally with ''shortly after'' I mean like not more than 2 weeks,so its totally ok to meet interesting people online but then If I cannot meet them I have no interest in talking to them

2. I think its important to plan a real life date

I am alive as y'all can see,meet the person in a very public place and ofc first you need to have seen the person's face and heard the voice several times. not everyone is a pedo that will kill you and there are many exaggerations about this,if you are not stupid and immature everything will be alright.

Well, in past 6 years, i tried it with a Canadian guy, i found him in Tinder. at first, Our convo went smooth but with one or two inconvenient i broke the relationship. (It's not because me/him cheating, but i think there is no future for us. Plus, i don't really believe in the relationship eventhought at the end of relationship he convinced me so hard to change but it's too late haha)

Ofcourse consent, loyalty, honesty and effort. Especially if both of you comes from different time zone, it need strategy and compromise to maintain the relationship.

super scary? depend hahaha, but nahhh, as long as you sure the person isn't rapist or criminal, it's totally ok to meet in real life. And if you want to meet your online buddy or LDR lover, make sure to choose crowd place like at the mall, cafe, restaurant, park or public space. Never give consent if the person ask you to meet at bar, hotel, or club.

I think long-distance relationships look very complicated, and since you're far away from each other the risk of cheating is probably higher. So if you're in a working long-distance relationship with someone, you're either both awesome or both twisted.

But that's just my opinion, I don't really have any facts to back me up.

But i think also for good friendships it is the same if it is safe and you feel comfortable about it. And i think that what others said the best tip is to meet in public like in the city centre and there are a lot of other people too.

BUTTT online love can also be for example Tinder like Mare said or with ANYY app. But NOTTT the app where you have a virtual partner like a chat bot that i wrote about in the AI forum. That is now really popular in Japan and some guys dont even WANT to date a real girl anymore bc they prefer the AI girlfriend!!!! I think that is not real love bc that must be with a real human. haha in the end, no matter how the condition, whether it is online (LDR) or near you, you can't avoid things such as cheating, harm, or any inconvenient stuff. i mean, in both situation have potential to be happen, cause it's not the distance, but the person haha that's why set boundaries helping a lot to at least reduce the inconvenient.

1- no, never. Else than one time i wanted to gather information about Hailey Pauling, you might know her😂 ahh crazy times. I really liked some people, but not as a real big love, and i knew its not real, so i stopped myself, and mostly broke their heart so i wont get drown in my fake feelings. At all, online relationship is so scary to me, hoping to find love in words, in keyboard, behind a LCD… so scary!! idk how alone i need to become to agree to be in an online relationship. Its just no feelings, no sense, and just the urge to have girlfriend/boyfriend, for some people. And their love, may all be a lie.
2- not sharing other’s info in dark web?

3- nahh not so much, if i had a call with them before, saw their face or their voice. I just need to be sure they are real and the place we are going to meet is somewhere safe. And of course, i wont take valuable things with myself
