Nursing homes are the problem. They're places where you send old people to die, of course they're going to be horrible! Instead of sending your parents there, you should take care of them, like they did for you when you were a child. It's just paying them back for all they did for you, yet so many people prefer to send their parents in bland places where they live cramped up with other old people and have almost no services because they are too many. I understand that nursing homes are useful for people who don't have children to take care of them when they can't do it themselves anymore, but people shouldn't sent their parents there when you can clearly do better than the employees there without too much effort. It's cruel to make people go there to die when they will clearly be unhappy in nursing homes. Why would anyone want their family to pass away depressed and with regrets?

About the 3 young people, of course they are horrible beings, but they aren't much worse than most other people in society nowadays. They simply didn't mask their abuse under the excuse that 'it's normal now'.

I don't agree with that. People with dementia for example basically need constant care, or at least someone constantly around them to help with basic practical things or emotional support etc. Working adult children simply cannot provide for the care their parents need. It's cruel not to provide for that. And on top of that; it's not true every person hates a nursing home. At least they have other people their age around them, which is better than letting them die alone in their home e.g.. And not everyone wants their parents in their home, especially when they need a lot of care or they just can't stand seeing their parent loose their capabilities. You can call it selfish, but it's also understandable. It doesn't make someone a bad person just for making that decision.

I know that sucks and I'm not trying to say that's okay, but what I mean is; there honestly are people trying their best working in a nursing home and succeed in taking care of the elderly. Everywhere you have rotten apples and it's sad there isn't a strict selection for people in order to work there. The lack of employees preserve having a selection procedure, which should actually be there, as the elderly are very vulnerable and dependent on their caretakers.

Its the lack of the nurse who is responsable. They are always in the office instant of looking wath the others doing

That's often the case; management doesn't have a clue what's going on on the work floor.

Today 3 young people were arrested who abused elderly people in a nursing home and also made videos of it. I get angry about that.😡😠😡😠😯😦 What do you think about that? Would you send your parents there? Would you place a camera in their room? Do you think they deserve a big punishment?forum: @Pennarossa2024, @Yue @NILU1234, @Etienne, @Simone724, @mayuuram, @Sarahsalah27, @Esma-Nur, @Annika2007, @Emmiiii_17_11, @Miss_Penpal, @Sabri_KC, @allstarcheer, @martutuni, @Roseeeee, @-Kiki-, @Txya, @Lianshen, @LandRoverDiscovery2

These kind of people is why I’m hugely worried about my grandparents 😞 luckily they live in a town so if anything should happen to them we would know immediately. I just cant believe people feel so free to abuse the elderly or children!

Those nursing homes never have been very nice places and it's common knowledge that there always have been mistreatments. I can't stress it enough, but boomers killed their parents and assassinate their children; and nursing homes typically are one of those instruments; which they will pay for too.

Now, things get worse when you completely cut the generational transmission and teachings of respect for others, common decency, some sort of collectivism (without asking for more, just life in society), and bring people from other places without checking their record: who they are, why they come, what did they do... I only expect things to get worse with time, unfortunately.

@Idkbro yes me either

@Roseeeee yes me either

Exactly. You never know who those people are. I don’t trust places also like centers for kids with disabilities where they sleep and stuff. I wouldn’t send a minor,someone disabled or with intellectual disabilities,or an old person away with strangers. They are a perfect prey for sexual predators and this kind of shit. Many people got abused in those places

Okay, that's a good point you draw there. They're defenitely the most easy prey for sexual harassment and other inhumane things. Unfortunately there's basically no control to see whether people are fit or do their job in a legal and good way. We do have a "Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag (VOG)" here in the Netherlands, which is an explanation of well behaviour, in which they kinda track your background. The thing is; they mostly do this for voluntary work, not often for paid jobs as far as I know, which should be considered at least as important.

I understand your point but there can be sick people even if it’s just a voluntary work,and maybe they go and work with disabled kids to do to them what they want. Unfortunately,there are many cases of pedos marrying women with kids to have access to kids/pedos working with kids to have access to kids and all this kinda shit. Those ppl are just sick.

Defenitely sick in their minds, yes. And not willing to go to therapy...

Yes I know. It's so sad there's super long waiting lists, people aren't willing to go and a lot of times the mental healthcare isn't even adequate. Therapists aren't adequate in lots of cases because they haven't dealt with their own stuff and subconciously project those on their clients, they don't actually care about their patients, they are prejudiced, don't want to put in the effort etc.

@-Kiki- there is no more empathy in humanity and you feel that in hospitals and old people's homes. when someone used to ask a nurse can you rub my feet with ointment then that was possible. but now the answer is we don't have time. it is a shame what is happening now. do you think they should do more internships before they get a permanent job?

There's simply not enough staff to provide for basic care anymore. Even if they did do more internships, a part would figure out it's not actually fit for them and the staff would be compromised even more.
