So, I think I might not quite be the target group of this (never had a girlfriend, maybe in another stage of life than most people who wrote questions), but whatever.
1️⃣ What are those tiny little things about a girl that makes you like them (not necessarily romantic love)? (from [@Miss_Penpal](https://penpal-gate.net/miss_penpal))
Just a spontaneous list:
her giggle, smile, being excited and passionate about something,
2️⃣ Do you have a type of girl that you like as your partner in the future? And if so, what is it? (from anonymous) What kind of feature should she have? (from [@Fleurke](https://penpal-gate.net/fleurke))
Idk if that’s realistic, but I‘m kinda looking for a girl with similar interests.
Physical appearance: I like cute girls (I know, not a well defined descriptor, but for me it is the word to describe it)
3️⃣ Is the style of clothes that your girlfriend wears important? And what kind of style do you like for a girl? (from Rose [@Idkbro](https://penpal-gate.net/idkbro))
On its own, clothing is not important to me, but the way we dress is also a form of expression. I‘m drawn to girls that have similar interests to me and clothing can be a good first indicator.
4️⃣ What do you think about a girl who's confident or talks a lot? (from [@AgDel](https://penpal-gate.net/agdel)) And what do you think of girls who are very shy in real life? (from [@Yue_](https://penpal-gate.net/yue_))
I‘m introverted myself, so when a extroverted person starts a conversation (regardless of context (guy/girl, platonic/romantic)) it is easier for me. But on the other hand I can relate to shy girls.
5️⃣ Do you have a personal objection with girls using certain slang/expression, that is often considered to be used only by boys? (from Marlene [@Melifekyybor](https://penpal-gate.net/melifekyybor))?
No. Also, gender is a construct of society.
6️⃣ What do guys gossip about girls if nobody else can hear it? (from [@Yue_](https://penpal-gate.net/yue_))
Currently I don’t gossip differently about girls than about boys. A typical thing for teenage boys (including myself) to do when talking about girls is to compare physical attractiveness.
7️⃣ Why are guys so afraid to look like gay? (from Stasy [@PinkiePie](https://penpal-gate.net/pinkiepie))
I‘m not.
I don’t care how my style appears to others (especially strangers)
8️⃣ What is your guilty pleasure - something you like but wouldn't readily admit to? (from [@frozenpizza001](https://penpal-gate.net/frozenpizza001))
Reading fanfiction.
9️⃣ Do you, even secretly, enjoy reading or watching romance books/movies? Or is it just a girl thing? (from [@Boa_RC](https://penpal-gate.net/boa_rc))
I don’t read stories for the romance, but if it is well written I enjoy romantic plots. And I totally get the appeal of well written romance.
🔟 If you were a girl for a day what would be the first thing you would do? (from anonymous)
Try to see how much my mind changed. It’s generally interesting to think about how our gender/assigned gender shape our thinking. How much it shapes our upbringing and how that influences our personalities.
1️⃣1️⃣ How do you actually feel about a woman's initiative (for example, if a girl is the first to write or ask for a date) (from Arsenia [@Kotyaka2023](https://penpal-gate.net/kotyaka2023))
(referring to writing first/something similar) Less social risk for me, because I already have something to go off, so that’s appreciated.
1️⃣2️⃣ In this era of equality, I often hear that (some) men believe that they 'must' lead and consider women as companions. What kind of companion do you expect? And why do you need a companion? What does 'leading' means to you in a relationship? Is leadership about control, responsibility, or mutual guidance? Do you think companionship should be rooted in hierarchy or equality? Why? What if it turns out your partner is more capable than you? Do you still love her or do you feel small & challenged? (from [@mayuuram](https://penpal-gate.net/mayuuram))
That’s a lot of questions in a Trenchcoat.
I want an equal relationship. Each partner „leads“ on those issues/tasks they are better at. But of course communication is key to make sure everyone‘s needs are met.
„What if it turns out your partner is more capable than you?“ never been in that situation, but I‘d like to think I‘d not be bothered by this. Generally I‘m ok with people being better at stuff than me, it only bothers me if others are better at things I thought I was good at.
➡️ New question: If you meet a girl for the first time, what do you normally notice first (for example character or how she looks or something different)? (from [@-Kiki-](https://penpal-gate.net/-kiki-))
How she looks. And I try to discern as much as possible from this. Our look is a form of self-presentation. We can use certain styles to show affiliation with a certain group. Another example is merch, a possibility to show that we like a certain thing (e.g a band). But I feel like girls are more expressive about their look. And obviously looks are just an indicator of a person’s personality and nit comprehensive.
➡️ New question: What do you think about piercings? Do you think about it like being girlish or do you they that's cool? (from Savithi [@NILU1234](https://penpal-gate.net/nilu1234))
I don’t see the appeal in piercings, but whatever it is just a piece of metal.
