Because France is now also a republic and it was not attacked anymore after the second world war. I hope that @Etienne, @Sabri_KC and @Lianshen maybe know about it.I'm not quite sure, but the switch from IV to V in Republic is essentially changing the Constitution, hence the "regime" or way France is governed. 5th Republic thus is a Republic made for De Gaulle in 1958 like mentionned earlier, but what it changes in France is mainly giving more power to the President and ministers (Prime Minister being their leader) as well as relative "stability" etc.

I actually consider it as one of the biggest scam of history/French history 😅1️⃣ In 1793 on this day Marie-Antoinette who was the wife of king Louis XVI was executed under the guillotine in the French Revolution. @Etienne, @Lianshen and @Sabri_KC: there was before a news about the four republics. But the first republic was after Napoleon right because he became an emperor so that was not really a republic.
That being said, the first Republic starts after the Revolution (I think they kept Absolute monarchy for a few years, switched to Constitutional monarchy which was turned into a Republic after the "betrayal" of Louis XVI) until Napoléon took the power. It's worth to note that Napoléon was also ruling under the first Republic as the first consul (during the Consulate).
After Napoléon, France got the "Restauration", where the Moanrchy was instaured back with Louis XVIII. The second Republic "starts" (and end) with Napoléon III 😉

Now it is 8 October and in 1871 on this day started the Great Chicago Fire!! 🔥🔥 It started in a barn it says on internet. I think that is a farm? And it lasted for two days and killed about 300 people. 😧a barn doesnt have to be a farm.....Did you know about the fire? I only found out just now on the internet. And did anybody visit Chicago? If so what is it like? 🙄🙄
