For all 3 of them TRUE
No far all of them.
β‘οΈ Animal testing should be banned.
- Animal testing is important to understand many things on behavioural and physiological aspect, and it's less bad, but also more affordable, to test on rats and other species than your conspecifics. Without animal testing, no Pasteur and rabbies vaccine for example.
β‘οΈ Guns and other weapons should be banned (unless you are a soldier or in the police).
- Banning guns is not a bann on guns, but a bann on honest gun owners. This is a massive difference to take in consideration. In France, you can find almost anything in some streets if you know who to ask for, even in the "small" city I come from. More than that, the problem is not to possess one or another item, but how do you use it.
If you take some factors in consideration and don't just look at the US where almost anyone can own a weapon, then gun possessions is nowhere like a huge problem. Beside, look at Switzerland or Norway; who would say those are terrible countries? Now look at Eritrea or Somalia and tell me which of the former or second countries you would think as safer. Can you then say that (legal) gun ownership is the biggest issue there?
β‘οΈ You ONLY have to follow sexual education in schools if you want to be in the class and are ready for it (so not in the first two years mandatory).
- You get to have some sexual education at a point or another to avoid some problems like STDs. If you make it "when you are ready", then some will never be ready either for religious beliefs/parents pushing behind or other reasons. It probably shouldn't be as near as what it is recently (at least the crazy things medias are telling us), but it should still be a topic adressed with sensibility and responsibility to avoid having a 14 years old coming home with a bad surprise.
Merci beaucoup @Lianshen!!! ππ I wait for some responses more and also react to all comments!! π But i am happy always when you answer and let us know what you think about the statements!!!!! And @Fleurke too of course!!! πππ₯π₯π₯
Sometimes i agree with the statements i post in this forum and sometimes not!! π
I understand why @Fleurke said yes to all three statements BUTTT also why @Lianshen and @Etienne said no to all three. This time i was not so super sure and maybe still i dont know it really certain. I will try to explain super short because it is late!!!!
β‘οΈ Animal testing should be banned.
This statement is very difficult because i am against animal suffering from tests. But i know it is a FACTTTT that it saves human lives for example to make medicines. So i think IF you dont need animal testing but it is just easier: DONT DO IT. But if for example you can save thousands of people it is allowed. But still i think it is difficult.
β‘οΈ Guns and other weapons should be banned (unless you are a soldier or in the police).
I understand why @Lianshen and @Etienne think the answer is no because there are for example a lot of illegal weapons. BUTTTT it is also that ANY gun is one too much. And you still pay money to the weapon makers so they can make more perhaps. And in my country i think nobody needs a gun unless you are a soldier or in the police.
BUTTTT on the other hand and i think maybe @-Kiki- also knows this that the BIGGESTT problem in my country is not guns but knives and even super long knives. They are used A LOTTT to scare people or even with fights. And it is of course impossible to ban knives. So also this statement i am not very sure.
β‘οΈ You ONLY have to follow sexual education in schools if you want to be in the class and are ready for it (so not in the first two years mandatory).
This statement is also difficult because it is super uncomfortable in the class and i dont like it at all bc a lot of people act like they are super cool and just say A LOT of things and that does not help and maybe it is better if you are ready for it or that you get that in small groups and not the whole class ORRR you can read it at home. And i did not think about the religious reasons that @Lianshen said i forgot about that so that is a good point. So AGAINNN a statement and i am not fully sure.
Thank you @Fleurke, @Lianshen and @Etienne for answering!!! πππ₯°π₯°π₯°
In my opinion animal testing should be banned. I know it's harder for science to develop, but I'm still against using and mistreating animals for our own good.
I'm not sure if banning the weapons is going to make any difference. There are always people going against the rule. Even if you'd destroy all of the weapons in the world, there's still going to be people who know how to make new ones and it's going to backfire on you.
I think knives are way more of a problem here than guns, indeed. And as you said @Yue_, you can't forbid kitchen knives for example.
No, defenitely not. I know it's super awkward to be in class with sexual education, as some are defenitely ready to get the talk and others aren't. Tho, it's still important to teach all teenagers about the topic at the same time, otherwise teenagers could lie to their peers who didn't get the talk yet about what's considered normal and what isn't and get their way in absurd behaviour.
At some point in time, the easy access of the average guy on the street (or worse: any teenage offspring) to a broad variety of weapons will be an unfortunate fact of life. Considering the abundance of e.g. knives amongst youngsters, we may have already reached that state quite some time ago in The Netherlands.
Illegal domestic production and cross-border arms trade - and also more recently the advent of 3D printing of weapons - will also increasingly cater those who are not even eligible to vote yet.
Hello everybody! πββοΈ
This time i have a statement BUTTT it is not mine i just heard it. I am curious what you think about it:
β‘οΈ If every person MUSTTT go to a psychologist, he will find with EVERY person something that is wrong.
What do you think about the statements? ππ True β or false β ?

I've heard about a studies in which some people had a fake diagnoses and the psychologists all believed it, tho they all didn't actually have that diagnoses. So that means the statement is true.

Would you be afraid to talk with a psychologist @-Kiki-? i still think it is a very nervous moment!!! π¬π¬
...or they will always come up with something supposedly wrong with you because they need you to keep coming back and πΈοΈπΈοΈπΈοΈ the hell out of you π
@Etienne in belgium it is for free for young people untill the age 22 . And if you are not a well payed job you paye just 4euro / sessie abd their are also places you can go for free

I guess, but what is free for the patient/client isn't for the taxpayer π. Free healthcare is a really bad idea because it incentives people to use the system for futile reasons since they're under the impression it's magic. So we need sky high taxes to try to keep up with the sky high expenses, it's a vicious cycle. If people paid for say 20% of the cost they would act much more responsibly, and we would have significantly lower taxes. We need affordable healthcare, not "free" healthcare

I have no idea how that is in my country free or super expensive. But i think psychologist can also really help people but i was curious how many people have for example issues and they dont know it even. But the statement is interesting i think! π

Was going to say that. It's like when you go to a mechanic for a random thing and the dude finds out your car has a cancer of the wheel and needs a replacement of the engine.π

One in 4 people will sometime in their life struggle with physical issues, so that's a lot of people. Here in the Netherlands, you have to pay your "own risk", which is a mandatory β¬365 a year and then mental healthcare as in therapy sessions are free. I don't agree that it's "free", at least not here, here it's affordable for those who need it.
Moreover, if mental issues keep people from working, there's less taxes to be paid and people will need money from the government to provide for their house, groceries, insurance etc, so it's not only beneficial for the government to charge more for mental health care.
In conclusion, I don't agree with you. Free mental health care is far from futile, nobody says it's magic, most people know they still need to put in the energy themselves to get better. To be able to go to therapy, there are long waiting lists, so it's not like anyone can just go in whenever they please and use it for futile reasons.
