I think people nowadays don't understand what marriage means. Younger people date each other for years and most of the time don't even think of getting married unless they want to start a family. Personally, I think marriage is an important part of a romantic relationship. Without it, there's kind of no point in dating someone since you'll probably never truly build something from your relationship. I think romantic feelings are much less sincere if you don't even think of marriage.

Although, my definition of marriage isn't a big ceremony where the bride wears a huge white dress. For me, it's simply an event where you vow to stay by your partner's side. Buying a house together with the right intent could count as a marriage in my opinion, for example.

2️⃣ Online dating apps?

Honestly, I don't really see the point of dating apps except as a way to waste everyone's time. It's easy to lie about yourself online, or to not know yourself enough to paint a good picture of your personality. So it's just a disappointment when you meet the person in real life afterwards. Also, I don't think it's possible to build a romantic connection with someone over a computer. It's always better in real life, when you meet because you were doing the same hobby or something.

3️⃣ Higher prices for unhealthy food?

I think that's a good thing, it discourages people to buy too much unhealthy food.

4️⃣ Electronic cigarettes and vapes?

They're dumb. E-cigarettes are bad for your health AND they don't smell good like real cigarettes. I'm not saying I like cigarettes, I just mean that I like the smell of smoke and e-cigarettes are like cigarettes but without the only positive-ish part. Then there's e-vapes, which I think I know what it is but I don't know enough to actually have an opinion. In any case, I wouldn't want to try it.

5️⃣ Meditation, yoga and spiritual lifestyle?

I understand that some people find peace and comfort in it, but it doesn't work for me so I don't really have an opinion. It's the kind of thing I know about but I never think about.

6️⃣ Feminism and woke culture?

I actually hate it. Nowadays women have the same rights as men, so feminists are just against men at this point. I get it, there's still misogynistic comments sometimes, but there's also misandrist comments and you don't see men complaining about it, making a huge deal out of it or telling everyone they're awful people for letting these things exist.

And I understand that people want to be treated as equals, but that goal has already been reached so it would be nice if people stopped talking about it. It's annoying when you try to talk to someone or joke around with them and get called racist for no reason just because you're "not the same race". Honestly, I think saying there are multiple races of humans is the only racist thing left, or at least that's how it is where I live.

7️⃣ Religions

Everyone is allowed to have their own religion, to talk about it, to celebrate the holidays they want... but I don't like how people are always trying one way or another to convert you to their religion. Let's take school as an example(it might not be the same everywhere in the world, I don't know, just keep in mind this is how things are where I live). There's a day for Valentine's day, for Halloween, for Christmas... but do you ever see holidays that aren't Christian? No, you don't. And that's annoying to me, because schools act like they're being inclusive of other religions but it's not true, they only tolerate them.

8️⃣ Prices for vet products

Actually in Canada you can't even buy vet products, the vet has to give it to you. Or you have to go all the way to the US to get medicine for your pet. Anyway, I think the price is fine because a lot of medicine for animals also work for humans so they kind of have to make it expensive.

9️⃣ Natural furs

As long as the animal isn't being wiped off the face of the earth from all the hunting, I don't see a problem with natural furs. It usually lasts much longer than fake fur and looks better, so on the long term it makes less trash.

We have equal rights in only 7% of countries in the world, and yes, you're lucky to live in one of them, but not everyone lives in paradise. But don't forget that you can lose all your rights in a few months. Men and women have the same rights where I live, and I don't care enough about politics to know about other countries. Also, you've said you would like to politely ask me a question but the end of your message is very aggressive. I think you could have phrased that in a much nicer way, especially since what I said wasn't meant as an insult to anyone, it was just my opinion. I have never said that feminism makes people hate each other. I am referring to the polarization these topics have created in Western society and how I see both genders, men as well, (not just women) shying away from relationships. This concerns me. Thank you Faber for your reaction. Our daughters are still “vertically challenged” (i.e. very young of age). Heavy topics dealing with feminism and emancipation might be “a bridge too far” in these early stages of life. At the moment we prioritize implementing a safe setting for free speech at home in which any small or serious topic can be raised for discussion by them. Our daughters realize that they will be listened to and taken seriously.

Having said that they have experienced and seen things which fall in the “heavy category”. We always take our children with us when traveling. Questions that arise on child labour, severe poverty, animal cruelty, pollution, etc. must he addressed adequately and patiently. For the remainder we wish for our daughters to grow up in a natural - and not in an accelerated - pace.

Your question on the divide between men and women may be an example of a broader phenomenon. We currently live in an age of polarization. The ability and willingness to genuinely engage in conversation are rapidly in decline. It can be easily detected if people speak in absolute terms and universal truths. Undesired parts of life are often attributed to a single malicious cause. When painting a distorted truth, you open the door for further polarization. It is a vicious circle that keeps reinforcing itself.

Nevertheless, I also notice a movement to counterbalance the “aggressive stance” of apparent polar opposites. Views that I have expressed above are not original by any means, but are increasingly shared by others in my circle of friends and acquaintances.

The solution seems rather simple: listen and talk in good faith. This does not mean wait for an opportunity to shout and overpower your alleged opponent. But be genuinely willing to engage in a proper conversation and be receptive to welcome differing views.

As a final coda to this rather extended coffee break: I am happy to see the response of the previous commentator on the AI question. I know about the existence of AI, but it has retained an aura of “black magic” to me. I salute those who are brave to open an actual book and start reading.

1. I personally think marriages are important, at one point of your life you do need a family of you own. But, in India, mostly people only ever support arrange marriages and even though I've seen many changes in people, I still don't wanna get married, not that I'll have a say in it. 🥀

Okay I finally have mood to answer

1. Before I fell in love I hated the idea of marriage, but now I like it, but I still understand that in my country I can't get a divorce without my partners permission

2. I just dont understand the idea of trying to find love on purpose, it feels so weird, like love is something more than app, but I absolutely dont judge people who use them

3. Yeah thats perfect, I also dont understand how simple vegetables can be more expensive than junky food, crazy world

4. I hate all types of legalized addictions, like why do you think drugs are bad but cigarettes and casino isn't?

5. If it helps you than it's okay, just not mine

7. Hate all religions, because they are used to control, but love the idea of God. If they're real, dont think they would choose one man on earth to tell all people how to live. Don't hate religious people tho!!!

8. My dog is very ill and he's getting better but we spent $2000 for his treatment and it's not even a half

9. Hate. Most people say but eat meat. But eating is bare minimum, and furs are overconsaption. It's not the same as leather shoes (not all leather too), cuz they are made from remains from meat production. But crocodile, elephant and etc leather is awful too

For me i would like to marry later and it is also what my parents and whole family expect. Bc that is standard and they also want that. But also for myself i want it bc that way it is the nicest to have a family and of course it can also be without getting married but still i think it is nice. And you celebrate it with family and friends too. 🙂

I didnt do that and dont want that now at all. But maybe later but i prefer if you know each other really. And with apps that is perhaps lot more difficult and you dont know the other person and what they want.

I think it is good but NOTTTT if that means that ALL food is super expensive. So if you have more expensive unhealthy food and cheaper healthy food that is maybe good way to make everybody healthier and less fat.

4️⃣ Electronic cigarettes and vapes?

I dont like both. They are unhealthy, can make you sick and they smell really bad. If ppl get addicted to for example using batteries like lollypop you also know you get cancer and that it can make you die. But what is the difference with cigarettes and vapes?

5️⃣ Meditation, yoga and spiritual lifestyle?

I think meditation is not really easy bc your head keeps thinking of stuff ALL the time even when you want it to stop. Yoga i did not often but i like it a LOTTT!! So i think it is really positive.

6️⃣ Feminism and woke culture?

I think feminism is super important bc it is abt two things. We also discussed it in the class and one everybody knows: it protects that you also have more rights and are not thought that you are only less and not worth anything really but that you are also equal and deserve things like going to school, voting, getting a job and so many things. BUTTT the second thing that smb mentioned in our class was that if feminism is not important anymore: not only do you not get things more equal but ALSO ppl dont think it is important and it can get worse AGAIN. So it is always important i think

For woke culture it depends bc if you make everybody inclusive and treat everybody rightly i think it is good. But i dont like if things get super far and that others are now not included and they didnt do anything wrong but maybe not exactly like smb else thinks. So i think it can be good but it depends on the ppl.

7️⃣ Religions

I like it if religions make ppl better persons and that you have good morals ANDD that you become a good person. But i dont like it if a religion punishes you bc you are not of that religion EVEN if you are a good person and did nothing wrong. Like why should my grandmom who is Buddhist be punished if she is a VERY good person but maybe not of another religion? That is really wrong i think. But for the rest it is good if ppl dont abuse the religion to think they can do really bad things and they believe it is bc of the religion.

8️⃣ Prices for vet products

In my country that is REALLY expensive and im really sorry to hear abt Stasyyy @PinkiePie and your pet that it is not even half and you pay already so much. It should be the most abt getting your dog healthy and not only to earn more money.

9️⃣ Natural furs

For me i would NEVER wear it. If animals are killed for only the fur i think it is really wrong.

🔟 AI (generative AND simple)

One thing i REALLY dont understand. Ppl always think that EVERYBODY uses AI for hw and tasks but that is not true. Of course many do that but not for the most in my class bc you can see it super easily if smb uses AI and ALSO for tests you cant use AI and that way you dont pass that anyway. So that would be really stupid. If you use AI to learn and you try to really understand it after than it is ok except that in my class and books it is explained 10000 times more easy and better. But for private things it can be fun but for most things like what @mayuuram said some time ago in a forum abt art and also Stasy said above i dont like it. For example, i dont like that there is now AI music and it is just fully the computer which made it.

In my opinion, marriage is a gift and a sacred bond. Not everyone is fortunate enough to experience or remain in a marriage.

Marriage (at least for me), is not an easy thing to achieve. Because marriage is actually quite complex and isn't just about two people falling in love and then getting married. There are many aspects a couple needs to prepare for marriage and to welcome the world of married. And it's not just about financial matters, but also the maturity and emotional stability of each individual. Personally, I don't want to get married just because of my personal desire for marriage.

2️⃣ Online dating apps?

I met my partner through online dating, and I think, as someone with limited time, dating apps are quite helpful.

3️⃣ Higher prices for unhealthy food?

just a waste. I'd rather spend more money on healthy food than unhealthy but expensive food. I believe unhealthy food is likely to contain a lot of preservatives and ingredients that are no longer of good quality because they're mixed in.

similar example, at least for the same price, I wouldn't buy fast food chicken; I'd rather buy food from a cafe/small restaurant that's clearly made from scratch.

Every ideology has a spectrum, including feminism and woke itself.

I believe some feminists are genuinely good and understand their ideology, but on the other hand, the emergence of feminazis stems from feminism itself. I would say feminazis are a radical version and tend not to fully understand the concept of feminism, resulting in misandry. (personally, I don't think that feminazi is part of feminist. But many people think the same, so yeah, I won't comment much.)

In fact, feminism itself arose because of the gender inequality experienced by women, and these women demanded equality in rights, voice, and opportunities, which for centuries have been exploited, stolen, manipulated, diminished, and controlled by misogynists. and if there was no campaign or support from feminists, I'm sure that until today, no woman (at any age) would really dare to leave the house or be herself.

I would like to add that the role of religion in life is actually like a guide or light for humans, and if someone thinks a religion is bad because its followers are bad, it is not the religion's fault, but the fault of the people who does not truly understand and live the values ​​or teachings contained in his own religion.

Anti-marriage. From my observation, I don't think it's necessary for anyone. I don't think people can gain real satisfaction or happiness from it. I don't hate married people and I am open to other different opinions. Maybe it's just a phase and I'll think differently in the future but right now, the only person I'll ever consider getting married to is Stephen Sondheim if he comes back alive.

Never used it. Feel dangerous.

That means we have to bring down the prices for healthy food or what do poor people eat.

My dad uses it and he used to smoke real cigarettes. As someone near him I definitely prefer vape but it still smells bad.

If I have to choose one meditation sounds fun.

Everybody should have the right to say something or protest when they're facing injustice and inequality. You don't get to say "there's no need for protest" just because you don't experience those things.

I am Christian. I feel strength when I know God is with me all the time. I believe that most religions are about doing right thing and being a nice person. For the people who don't have religion, they are missing a part of their life. I do believe that most people will find something else in their life to fulfill that part but if you're struggling and feeling like something's missing, religions might give you answers!

As the pet industry keeps growing, I believe there will be more resources, meaning lower prices for vet products.

9️⃣ Natural furs

It might be better for your skin? I don't really know.

🔟 AI (generative AND simple)

I like chatting with AI because it's less stressful. It doesn't judge or demand responses. It has helped me a lot during big transitions. It can also provide me an idea when i don't have one. I don't like using them to write essays directly or do my homework because I can never trust the sources it gives and it kinda ruins the fun of putting pieces together. I don't think they will rule the world or attack human beings, at least not in near future.

My gurlll!! I completely agree with you!! 💋✨ And yeah there literally are so many country where feminism is seriously considered misleading, take mine for example. The moment I say feminism here, they all be like 'oh shit, she's a girl of UNACCEPTABLE characteristics' which in other words mean kinda slut. I don't know how we got there. But THAT'S the truth.
