In Belgium it is carnival next Friday. the children then go to school dressed up. The young and old then go to a discotheque in costume. the discotheque is then completely decorated. Do they also have carnival in your country? : @Pennarossa2024, @NILU1234, @Etienne, @Simone724, @mayuuram, @Sarahsalah27, @Esma-Nur, @Annika2007, @Emmiiii_17_11, @Miss_Penpal, @Sabri_KC, @elizabethtay836, @martutuni, @Roseeeee, @-Kiki-, @Lianshen

Can I ask why you format your messages with the "code" wrapper? It makes it very difficult to read 🤔️

To answer your question, we have "Mardi Gras" but it isn't really popular

well, actually when i found out that she writes the messages via the code wrapper, i liked using the code wrapper too. It looks kinda funny to use it.

Shrove Tuesday is the celebration that concludes the week of the seven fat days of carnival, during which many famous parades take place; precedes Ash Wednesday which marks the beginning of Lent.

Mardi Gras is indeed not very popular in France from my experience. It's related both to Carnival and Carême (Lent?), as you usually get read of the "fatty" food you still have, thus makes crêpes, waffles or something like that before eating much humble food. However, most of French aren't Christians or practicing, so this is a tradition that begins to be lost.

Carnival itself, though, is celebrated in some areas of France I believe, like in Nice or Dunkerque.

Dunkerique? in dutch i could make this word out of it: Dronkerik.

Dunkerque (French). Dunkirk in English and Duunkerke in Flemish since it's a flemish city. It's all in the North of France

and Dronkerik in dutch means drunk person 😛

Here we have the carnival of Quebec. There are a few activities related to that, for example there's an ice castle we can visit and there is some kind of parade too. The mascot is a weird snowman guy, you can see it on the picture below. I don't really know or understand what's the point of this carnival, but it exists.
