If u like Dutch stuff then u are also maybe bit Dutchie like for example @Piwipete he can eat better Dutch food i can and i am Dutch but we eat mostly Asian and i dont like fatty or foods with lot of sugar that make u fat. And i DONT eat red meats.

Yes that is true so it is about the end of the second world war in The Netherlands and the day before on 4 May you remember the people that died. On 5 May it can be super busy if you go for example to Amsterdam and often people wear orange or they put the flag outside. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have been numerous times in SA and it always remains frustrating that those speaking Afrikaans can understand Dutch much better than our poor results in deciphering their language. Dutch is often considered โ€œposhโ€ from an Afrikaner perspective - perhaps in a somewhat ludicrous or at least comical style.


Several years ago I had to edit an academic contribution in Afrikaans for a book containing a collection of essays - most chapters were written in either Dutch or English. Took me a number of espressos to complete the task.
