Oh, a photography competition sounds nice. Here they had a choir in the morning with songs atleast 100 years old 🙂 In the afternoon they had bands playing metallica, so it was a bit of a contradiction 🙂

Yes and no. They sang popular songs and some songs from the older days. The bands later on were rock and punk bands. Sometimes they also have groups singing old pub songs, in Dutch or English.
Today is the day that we remember all the people who died in the second World War and i think also in other wars. Tomorrow on 5 May is freedom day in The Netherlands and everybody is free in school and from work.

In France we celebrate it on the 8th of May. Everyone is also free from school and from work, and there is a national ceremony.
