Hello everybody!! ๐โโ๏ธ On the Dutch news there is a lot about the NATO and the meeting next week in Den Haag in The Netherlands. But a lot of people complain bc it is super expensive and roads are closed and shops and even schools are closed but in a lot of schools there are test weeks or other important things this month. And there are even rockets on a lot of places (i will google pictures from the news) .
In the news people asked why do they have the meeting in a BIG CITY??? Why cant they meet for example in a big forest or a military place. But i think the NATO comes to our country bc Mark Rutte is now the leader of NATO and he was the prime minister of our country. So i think that is an important reason. And maybe in Den Haag bc it looks very beautiful and they will be in a very big building for conferences and they will also meet the King and Queen of our country.
Hello everybody who likes Dutchies things!!!!!!!!!!! This Wednesday there are elections in my country and everybody gets super crazy bc there is a LOTTTTTT on tv like debates and polls and also in our class we will have tomorrow a test vote. BUTTTTT we are NOTTTT allowed to vote at all really. But still we have a vote in our class what are the most popular parties. And the last time there were two parties the biggest in OUR vote but not of people who really vote. And can anybody guess which two parties got the most votes and why? ๐๐
Ok so the result in my class today of the voting: the biggest parties were D66, PvdA/Groen Links and PVV. I hesitated between D66 and PvdA/Groen Links bc i think nature is an important topic and a lot of people think it is less important than other things. But i think it is equally with for example safety and also other things like that you can have a house or appartment later and other more difficult topics.
Hello everybody!!!!! Ok so the Dutch elections happened yesterday and there are two parties who are almost exactly the biggest!!!! That is D66 and PVV. But they are still counting some votes so it is not completely sure everything.
I cant vote but if i would vote i would have voted D66 or PvdA/Groen Links. ANDDD it is really funny bc my mom and dad DONT agree for voting bc they dont vote for the same party!!!!! ๐๐

If u like Dutch stuff then u are also maybe bit Dutchie like for example @Piwipete he can eat better Dutch food i can and i am Dutch but we eat mostly Asian and i dont like fatty or foods with lot of sugar that make u fat. And i DONT eat red meats.

Yes that is true so it is about the end of the second world war in The Netherlands and the day before on 4 May you remember the people that died. On 5 May it can be super busy if you go for example to Amsterdam and often people wear orange or they put the flag outside. ๐

I have been numerous times in SA and it always remains frustrating that those speaking Afrikaans can understand Dutch much better than our poor results in deciphering their language. Dutch is often considered โposhโ from an Afrikaner perspective - perhaps in a somewhat ludicrous or at least comical style.
Several years ago I had to edit an academic contribution in Afrikaans for a book containing a collection of essays - most chapters were written in either Dutch or English. Took me a number of espressos to complete the task.
