Bc i chatted with @martutuni about that this is a nice topic for a forum!!! 1) Not really. I guess that wedding can be important to see family and friends and make it "official", but to me as long as I love someone a piece of paper and a ring won't change it, and I don't like be in the center of the attention... But it seems nice though to see all those people 🙂.

2) I think it's a tradition and I like traditions, but my "feminist side" feels like it's the guy asking the father to give him his daughter like it's an object... But it's nice to talk about it with the family (not to ask permission but to tell them that it's serious so they aren't choked when they learn the news of the marriage).

3) I want to wear a white dress, not too long so I don't step on it and fell in front of everyone, with heels because I'm short 😁. I don't know, I want the partner to choose themself but it should be simple and elegant. I would buy the dress with my best friend because she has good taste and it makes sense because she would be my maid of honor. So we could my dress and her outfit in the same day and advice each other.

4) I guess a place that means a lot to each other is the best. In France I think you have to get married in a city where you or your parents (or the partner or the partner parents) live.

5) Yes ! I want a bachelorette party even if I don't like party because my best friend would take care of it all and it would be super fun. And then I could get my revenge with her bachelorette party 😈.

6) I would like to write something special for that day... but I don't know because I would be very nervous about writing something wrong.

7) To me it would be a sweet song. But also maybe meaningful to the couple.

8) I don't even know if there would be a party of I would just go to the mayor's office. But I prefer small parties.

9) My mother had a ring when she got engaged and another ring when she got married, so I guess I would like to do the same... But actually I prefer engagement rings to wedding rings so one would be more than enough.

10) To me, it's a place that you don't visit often (like an island or a far away country) and maybe somewhere you always wanted to visit but never had the chance to do it.

rose @Idkbro normal people like you and me dont have to ask parrents permission to get married (yes, i agree; asking parrents to get married is silly) but i believe there are still people who have to ask there parrents permission for it. And i also believe that there are still parrents who decide for there son/daughter to whom he/she gets married.

Yes, I would like that, but I'm a bit scared of the big celebration. I don't think it's necessary, and even if it's family, there's wayyy too many people watching you. But at the same time I looove puffy dresses, so if I get married it would probably be a private wedding with only close family.

No, it's not necessary, but of course it's better if the father approves. Although it's APPROVAL and not permission, because it's possible to get married even if the father doesn't like it.

I would probably go buy the dress with my mother and sister, but I don't know about friends. I think picking the wedding dress is kind of personal, so I'd rather there isn't a bajillion people telling me what to wear. The people I bring with me can make suggestions and point out flaws in what I pick, but in the end, it's going to be my decision. For my partner, it'll be up to him. He can show up in a chicken costume if he wants, it's his choice. I think both traditional wedding outfits and original outfits are great, so it doesn't matter much to me.

And I would like a puffy dress that doesn't drag on the ground, so it doesn't get dirty. I don't know about the colour yet, but I don't really care if it's white or not, as long as it's a pale shade(for example light blue, pastel coloured, light beige...).

There is a garden near my current home(Jardin Botanique Roger-Van den Hende), it's very pretty in early summer/late spring. It would also save a lot of money in flowers, since there are some everywhere. But I'm still very far from getting married, so I'll see when I get there. Maybe I'll live in another city by then, I don't know.

I think it's kind of stupid that you have to buy two rings, one for the engagement and one for the actual wedding. Just propose with something meaningful(like for example a dragon-shaped ring because I love dragons, or a nerdy ring that comes from a show I enjoy...) and I'll wear it all the time, including at the wedding! I don't care if it was five dollars or a thousand, as long as I like it, I don't think anything else really matters. I don't like wearing jewelry anyway, and if it's too expensive I would be scared to carry it around and lose it, so I would just end up not wearing it, and it would be such a waste...

That doesn't mean I would be happy with an ugly piece of junk, though. It still has to be pretty and I'll be disappointed(maybe even angry?) if it looks like it came from the dollar store.

Mare @LandRoverDiscovery2 and Rose @Idkbro with permission i mean that the dad from the bride gives it to the husband so not to yourself. I think the garden what you described for the wedding location is very beautiful. I still have to answer the questions but i would prefer a small garden or park but not public that it is like you become a circus and strangers look and laugh. But if it is for example a private garden or park and you are with a small group instead of a SUPER BIG wedding with more than 200 people i would prefer the smaller wedding in a modest place for the wedding location. So i agree with you 1000000% about that!!! 🌳🌸🌼🌻🌳

well i just saw your whole questions in this forum, and it's super cute! talking about wedding day, it reminds me of my old obsession to become a bride, but now it's no longer an obsession, more into our dream. since me and my bf have same principle, that we date to marry.

not yet, but honestly we planned to get married someday ( max ) when i reach 30. why 30? cause in our opinion, 30 is the ideal ages when everything is starting/closer to become more stable, like financially stable, mentally stable, more honed mindset, wiser than before, most stable & mature.

so we are not a couple who choose to get married just because we couldn't hold our lust any longer or because bad decision/accident, but we will get married because we truly knows what our plan, what's our reason, goals, needs, everything. Everytime we are on date, we often deeptalk about our plan, our relationship future, we match, try and try to become the self that we need for each other in the relationship, for what we worth for.

maybe it takes longer or slow burning but at least we walk with certainty, caution, consideration, clarity and honesty. cause to build it is not as easy as we ask our partner to buy us an ice cream..

In my relationship, both of our parents have been very supportive and have been waiting for when it will come (the wedding), So actually it all depends on the child, whether they have mutual consent or not. they also trusting everything to us, including decision about the proposal, the wedding date, the reception, everything.

Cause both of our parents more value to the process, they watch us from the way we treat each other, love each other, so when (someday) my bf finally decided to propose me, it's no longer permission that our parent give, instead will ask

well, i'll ask my mom and sisters to accompany me while buying the dress, since i would like to surprise my bf haha but honestly, this is kinda my dream wedding gown & suit for him:

for the suit, ofcourse without the cape, and the colour i would like to adjust it into more cool tone and calmer color one.

at first, i think it would be best if we get married on the night beach under the stars. But, after seeing some ideas on pinterest or google, i think it's too casual, but then i found this:

well it may not really on beach, but the decorations on the hall is night beach (under the stars sky) theme, which is soooo aesthetic!

nope, i prefer after party one. the after party will full of fun game, yummy foods and dessert, and also my cocktail recommendation (i knew the recipes of cocktail that would fit everyone taste), and ofcourse the afterparty only for my closest friends.

hmmmm i don't think it'll be super big like for up to 1000 people. but ofcourse the reception at the hall and the after party at the villa.

separate ring? like maybe different ring? ofcourse. in my relationship i may never demand my bf to buy me designer bag, clothes or any expensive stuffs/foods, but i only demand for ring, like promise ring, engagement ring & wedding ring. cause these days people getting crazier, they really love to steal someone else's partner out of their insecurity. cause they believe if they succeed in stealing, it would validate them that they are more beautiful/handsome and more powerful that the actual partner, which is super narcissistic.

hmmmmmm honestly, i wish i could have honeymoon at the resort near bioluminescent beach, and then visit the beach & play on night cause it's so beautiful.

The most abt the beach wedding bc i thought it would not be a good idea if you wear a white dress and everything gets super messy also with guests and it can storm or you can have a lot of ppl on the beach who are strangers and they think your wedding is like a circus maybe. BUTTTT it can also be privately and i also like a LOTTTT what you said abt a wedding in the night under stars. Bc i always thought like what is normal here that you have a wedding during the day and after that photos and normally a dinner and a party in the evening. That really happens bc i have been now at several weddings already. But i like also that in your idea it is different and you can change what is normal and what you always thought about it!!!!

So these are my answers:

1️⃣ Do you want to get married in the future? Or are you already married perhaps?

For me yes i would like that BUTTT you dont know it of course if your partner also wants to marry you. So if he thinks that is ok than absolutely yes. And i hope that it happens when my parents are alive. It is not possible that my grandmom in China can come bc she is already very sick now and weak. But i hope that it maybe happens before my parents are very old. But now my dad is still strong and he can eat the WHOLE dinner alone. 😛 😛

2️⃣ Does the guy need to ask the father from the bride for permission to get married (bc that is normal or tradition or people do that often)?

I think my dad will make a bit joke of it!!!! So if he wants to marry me that he asks my dad and he will act like he is super strict and doubts it. But that it is more a joke to tease him!!!!!!! 🤭🤭😋

3️⃣ What outfit do you think would be nice for you? And what outfit do you think would be nice for your partner? If you are the bride: do you buy the dress with family and maybe your best friends? And if you are the groom: do you buy the suit alone or with others?

For me i like modestly so not a big Belle like dress in white or super ballroom but instead more modestly that you dont look like two sizes bigger!!!! And for me in white. Also red is my favourite colour and colour of luck but i prefer in white. And he can choose himself. And i would like to buy and try everything with my mom and my best friends and also my aunt.

4️⃣ What do you think would be the nicest place for you to get married? Like a special place in your hometown or maybe a destination wedding like on a far island? Would you choose a building or maybe a park or the beach?

Like i wrote above i first thought that the beach is not a good idea bc of other visitors of the beach and things can get messy or it is super windy. But maybe it can be more private and small and that smt can be done about the sand like you put something on it before you place chairs and other things. So it could still be a good idea. But it can also be a small park which is not too much space. I dont think it is a good idea to go for a SUPER big building or a huge park but a small area. That is for me important and only with family and best friends. So i prefer it is not bigger than maybe 60 persons instead of 200 people or maybe even more.

5️⃣ Before you get married: would you like a bachelor or bachelorette party? What kind of things would be nice?

If he wants a party that is the choice of him and his friends. I do not want to say anything abt that. But for myself what my friends choose. And if they do that i hope maybe something small and nice that you can really talk together and they can SCARRREEE me but not for example that they embarrass you i hope. So perhaps a high tea with nice stories or that you can do smt similar but not too big.

6️⃣ Will you give special vows at the wedding?

It is part i fear the most bc EVERYBODY looks at you and listens and you can really embarrass it if you say things wrongly or nobody can hear you. But it is important bc i can make promises to him and i think it is VERY important and everybody who hears it can know if you keep your promises.

7️⃣ What romantic song is nice for the first dance as married couple? Is it like super dancy or more romantic and sweet?

This is the only question i really want to keep it a secret. Bc it is a very personal choice and it is first dance. But of course he also needs to think it is a nice idea!!!!!!!!! What i would prefer is not a super showy dance but more romantically and close if he also thinks that is nice.

What @mayuuram said is really nice so i am now not really sure. But in any case it should not be very big. But perhaps an evening wedding and super small and romantical is also really nice under stars. But in that case really small so maybe 50 persons. I have to think more abt that but the idea is really nice i think!!!!!!!!! And i already know what kind of wedding gift would be super personal and nice i think!!!!!! But that is also a secret!!!!!!!

I think that he should make choices about the rings. I hope that it is small and modest so not super shiny or much. And it does NOTTTT have to be expensive at all. Just what he thinks is small and nice.

I think a place that is super romantic and where there are not a lot of people. Maybe in Asia bc in that way the wedding is also a little bit Asia and in that case maybe a super special island or a nice place. But the most important is maybe how you are together and that is more important than the place. And the souvenir i think maybe something that you can only get on the honeymoon in that place. So for example what people in that place do for couples to be in love and that is a nice souvenir!!!! 😊😊❤️❤️❤️

YESSSSS!!!!!!! But you also must invite us all from the forum when you are married!!! 🙂 I really think that what you said abt the beach but also in the evening that it is a very nice idea!!! I thought abt that more and it is nice bc if you have a SMALL group than in the evening it is more romantical. BUTTTT if the group is super large than i would not want to marry in the evening bc that makes it completely different i think. But i prefer a small group anyway like for example 50 or 60 people. In that case it can be really special bc everybody normally marries during the day in my country.

yep someday! i have plan to make such a fun after-party, because during the after party we won't be mixing with my & his family/relatives, so it'll be full of youthful & fun
