Don't chat in Chinese here. I think if you want to chat in Chinese, chat in a Chinese website or wechat group. We should know it is not a Chinese website, we are not here to practice Chinese.I think since it is a pen pal website, you can use any language ma'am.This is everyone's right, and it's not a website specially developed for learning English or any language.If u wanna learn languages u can use Duolingo or whatever u want and ofc this website included I just mean this isn't only for language learning.π
Ahm sorry, but since a few weeks or month ago it was common to talk in english!Dude,Why should we speak English when the chat room is full of people from China? I don't think you and your family will speak English when talking.π
Why is it a problem for Chinese teenagers to discuss in english? Because the lately "We are Chinese self confidence"? from some people here?
Hello, I understand this can be a bit frustrating. It would be great to have multiple chatrooms, however only a few people are in there at a given time and they would mostly sit empty. The 2 solutions I can think of are:
- force people to use English, at least when there are people from multiple countries online (this can be automated)
- implement automatic translations that would make conversations accessible to everyone

Im sorry, there is ONE country that uses Chinese language all other dont have a problem with english!! Why do chinese need a special treatment?!
It's happened in the past with other languages so I wouldn't necessarily single out Chinese. Automatic translations are probably the ideal solution but it can be very costly to implement. Will definitely look into it though, it's an interesting challenge π

I think if there are only Chinese people in the chatroom: everybody can speak Chinese. And the same with only Spanish people in the chatroom or Dutch, Arabic, French or any language. And if there are people from different countries, it is nice if everybody tries to speak a language everybody understands. If it is very expensive to have the automatic solution, maybe it is just nice if people try to make everybody feel welcome. π

Very few people are willing to pay for a penpal service, since much of the Internet has free alternative. And it's okay, I'll try to figure out something cost effective. π
So I mean the solution is not automatic and expensive, but from the people in the chatroom. Because it is polite and respectful that you try that everybody is welcome and we can use any language or way to do that.

In many other websites/forums, this is part of the rules/charts.
