Yes. There are many other problems in sciences, unfortunately and it can be very disappointing, depressing or even stressful, but you cannot change an old monkey.
If you were subscribed to the topic, you probably had at least 1 unread post in it. Email notifications only get sent on the first unread message so it doesn't get spammy
I meant on the website. Sometimes, I even get a -1 notification and then I don't see what topic sent that notification as it disappears when I clcik on it. Maybe I did something wron witht he settings, but I don't recall playing with them...

This is definitely possible, although the system should adjust accordingly. Maybe there's an edge case that isn't handled properly, I will take a look when I have time 🙂
