👨‍🔬📖 The science forum 🔬👩‍🎓 Vida cotidiana y costumbres

Hello everybody!! 🙋‍♀️

This is the new science forum of PPG University!! You can ask any question and lets try to find out the answers! 😛 It can be funny questions or serious questions. But I hope people help with thinking about the answers!! 🙏🙏

Normally PPG University has classes that you can see in this overview or interviews that you can see in this overview

But now we have an open class for questions and answers too!! I hope that Christine / @H_E_A_R_T also thinks this is a good idea!! 😛

First science questions!!

Let's start with these two questions and PLEASE HELP thinking about the answers! It will be fun! 😛

1️⃣ How many books do you need to be as high as the Eiffel Tower in Paris? 🗼

2️⃣ If you want to fly over a house, how many balloons do you need?? 🏠🎈🎈

What do you think are the answers? And do you have new serious or fun science questions? I hope that we soon have a science panel for answering the questions! 😛 😃

I think @Etienne, @Sabri_KC, @Lianshen, @H_E_A_R_T, @diogenes_cask, @Savi2024, @mabah, @Pennarossa2024, @Simone724, @Letshavecontact, @Txya and @-Unknown- and i hope many others would be very nice to be in the science panel to help with our science questions!! 🧑‍🎓👩‍🎓👨‍🎓

But anybody can of course help out with solving the questions!! 🏆🥇🥇

Editado por Yue_ .

15600 books to the top 8000balloons with helium

15600 books because you can only go up to the 2nd floor, the rest is closed to the public

Hahah that is a very smart answer!! 😛 But how many do you need to be higher than the whole tower? 😛

Do we have to answer off the top of our heads or can we take some time to look up information?

Do we have to answer off the top of our heads or can we take some time to look up information?

Both are totally good!! 🙂 We can just guess or look up things and help finding the answer that way!! But ANY help is good so if people only have time to guess that is cool! But if you have better information that may even solve the problems! 😛

Ok i looked online and the Eiffel tower is 330 m long. So if a book is average 4 cm that means:

330mx100=33000 cm and 33000/4=8250 books!! 📖📖

And for the balloons it depends on how much you weigh but if you are not more than 40 kgs i think the following: you need per kg 6.7 balloons i found online. So you need 6.7 x 40 (or less) = 268 balloons or less

Or if you are heavier more of course!! 🎈🎈🎈🎈

I need about 300 balloons. 🎈I'm already picturing myself flying with 300 balloons, which would be super cool.🎆 Like in the movie Up, a "flying machine" is a bunch of colorful balloons😛

Isn't a huge balloon enough?

I am curious how we can hold so many balloons because if they fly away you drop on the floor!! Maybe we need a special balloon suit! 😛

Yes that is also possible of course!! But that balloon must be as big as about 268 balloons for me and 300 for @nmddbn!! And I dont know how many balloons you would need to calculate how big the one balloon must be! 😛

I would need something about 600 balloons...😅

But I think my dad needs about 2000! 🤭🤭

Yeah, I think we need sophisticated special devices to keep us safe.🤔
We're going to tie the balloon to the stringJ🎈, and then tie the string to a hoop like a hula hoop⭕. The hoop should be big enough and the string should be evenly distributed over it (otherwise we're going to be flying sideways, which looks so funny 🤓).
Then we put a passenger seat under the hoop💺💺 (kind of like a hot air balloon).🪂🪂
If we need to land, we can gradually break the balloon.🏹🏹

That is a VERY good idea!!! And it will also be very comfortable!! 🙂

But this is also perhaps a good suit. I just searched on google on "Balloon suit" and this is maybe that we can also use: Temu balloon suit What do you think? 😛

Oh, my God, you're such a genius! 🤓
lmao, it's really funny looking.🤣🤣🤣
Maybe we'll bounce like a ball when we hit the ground in this suit🏐

A new science question

Ok we need to find out something else today!! This is a new question:

➡️ How long do you think that flies and birds can fly upside down? And I have the same question for animals in sea: how long can they swim upside down?

You can try to search the answer online or just make a guess!! 😛 And can you also explain the answer or guess? I know that we can solve this too right!! 😎😎😇

I don't think a fly can fly backwards, but animals in the sea can, but not for long

I actually mean upside down so with the belly up and the back down! 😛
