I agree that it is nicer to see the original art of course what @H_E_A_R_T said, but also what @Piwipete said that it is nice to talk about art! 🙂 So both are right! With this forum i hope that everybody can learn from each other how you look at specific paintings and what you maybe see and others not. And to learn new artists or paintings or other art works. And i think that works already in this forum bc i already learned A LOTTTT and i hope maybe others too. 🙂
When we go on holiday for example we normally only go to 1 and maybe sometimes 2 museums bc we try to do things that everybody likes and my dad does not like most museums. And it is also really expensive so we go normally to 1 museum BUTTT we can spend that time as long as we want. So we really take time and i like it a lot and it can make you feel super calm. We dont buy art books bc they are also expensive and super heavy on vacation but sometimes we buy a card or sometimes a magnet. It is not the same as original but it is nice so you remember it. 😊😊
When we have lunch break or after school i try to find the painting that @Piwipete said and also try to find more about the painting that Christine said and posted above. Have a nice day everybody!! 🌈🌞🌈
Hello everybody!! 🙋♀️ This is the painting that @Piwipete mentioned:
The painting was made by the Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch and is called Verzoeking van de heilige Antonius but i have no idea how to translate that in English bc i dont know even in Dutch what verzoeking means!! I will try to find out more about it after my last class and write it here!! 😛

Thank you very much @Piwipete!! The one i posted above is in Brussels and this one is also from Bosch BUTTT this one is in the museum Prado in Madrid:
I saw on Wikipedia that verzoeking of the title is translated Temptation. So it is the Temptation of the Holy Antonius. 🙂 And it also said that the Spanish King took the painting together with a lot of other arts during the war between Spain and The Netherlands. But i also read his faith helps him against the demons. With religious art i always would like to know the story behind it but often i have to read it online or on the paper next to the painting in a museum!! 😛 But it tells really a story that you must know.
Did anybody who reads this forum visit Madrid and the Prado Museum before? If i go to Spain i really hope that i can visit this museum!! 🙂
I find all the pictures very amazing! It is always good to have self humour and irony😃🤣…but do you thing, they will find a man, who looks like Charles II. of Spain? One, of the poorest boys in History!
Omg that is super difficult to find but i googled it and i got this:
but he is the person who played Charles I and not Charles II so it was the wrong king!!!! 😛😛 Why was the Spanish king the poorest boy in history @Piwipete? 😳😳

Because he was very ill since his birth. This father and his mother have been uncle and cousin! Charles II. of Spain could only walk with the aid of some servants, he could onöy speak very bad and his mint was ill too! But Charles I. of England was a poor boy too! Oliver Cromwell, the leader of the English parlament, gave the order to kill king Charles I. in a public execution….

But that is incest if you marry between family and if you have children they can get sick very easily for the rest of their lives. 😵💫😵😵
I knew about Charles I and we had in our history class that it was special bc he was the first king to be in a trial and he got the death sentence. I remember that. 😬😬

There was incest for houndred of years in the family of Habsburg! One part of the dynasty lived in Vienna and ruled over Germany, Ungary, Nothern Italy and the other part lived in Madrid and ruled over Spain and the Netherlands! And both parts of the Habsburgian have married eachother only for dynastic power! The history of Habsburgian monarchs and incest is one of Europe‘s terribile page of history…😱

But i think what you say is true bc they only marry each other for the power. Because it would be super weird if for example you have to marry your dad or uncle. So there must be a reason for that and with kings it is normally the power and you have friends in other strong countries.

They have been so incestious, that beginning with Maxilimian I., their faces were deformed during the times and generations. The members of the Hasburgian family have getting a long lower jaw! Charles V. for example could not close his mouth…the historians are speeking about the „Habsburgian jaw“…😱 but now let us return to arts and painters! This is nicer😃

That's the case of mandibular prognathism. Their portraits could have served in Anti-aestheticism movement.
I think number 4, but 1 is close too! 5 looks like a painting, but not too similar to the one on the actual painting.
Why got Charles I executed?
I actually think ALL of them!!! 😛 If you find a painting that looks like you @-Kiki- you must tell us. 🙂
I remember that the most important thing about Charles I that he was a king and still he got executed. And i also remember that Oliver Cromwell was the leader against the king and that he said the king was too powerful and hard against the people. But i cant remember more than that but i can look it up!! 😛😛

Haha I will! 🤪 But you have to as well haha!
Ah, so basically they weren’t content with him being the king and his rules. I think that's a common reason for people wanting to get rid of somebody...

Deal!!! 😛😛
And true about the execution BUTTTT i think it was special bc it was a King. At least that is what i remember that was the most special thing about it bc he was in the court and executed when he was still the king. But maybe i forgot smt but i think @Piwipete or @diogenes_cask can correct me if i said smt wrong!! 😬😬
And i will post a new art work later so we can also discuss specific art again and i already know what!! 🙂 Bc i want to do smt that somebody mentioned in an interview but i will explain later!!
