That is a great prospect for the summer! Will you also be visiting Yucatan & Quintana Roo? Quite an experience to explore places such as Tulum and Chichen Itza!

The British Museum and National Gallery are splendid. You may wish to add the Victoria & Albert Museum to your itinerary. Quite a versatile collection which includes an impressive Asian wing.
According to the myth, Narcissus was a beautiful youth courted by many suitors, who was too proud to love someone in return. After Narcissus rejected the nymph Echo, the goddess of revenge Nemesis decided to punish him for his vanity. One day Narcissus was bending down to drink when he caught a glimpse of his reflection in the clear pool of water. Overcome by strong feelings of love, he tried to embrace his own reflection and when he couldn’t he fell into despair, beating his chest until he died. In the same place, a beautiful flower bloomed, the narcissus.
First one is Metamorphosis of Narcissus by Salvador Dali, second one is Narcissus by Caravaggio, and the last one is Narcissus at the Fountain by Boltraffio. Videlicet, surrealism vs. baroque vs. high renaissance. Which one do you like the best ?
Thank you very much @diogenes_cask!! 😊😊 I did know only part of Narcissus that he really liked himself and that he looked in the water to himself. But i did not know that he killed himself with the beating and that he turned in a flower. That is really heavy and sad!!!!!
And i like the first painting the most bc of the colours and you can see a LOTTTTT of different things in it if you keep looking. But maybe you also see things that they painter does not mean at all. So it is difficult to know if you see it always right. But I did see the second painting where he looked in the water before. But the colours and what you can see in the first painting are the nicest for me. 🙂
Hello everybody!! 🙋♀️ Sorry that i post super late again in this forum but i will do that more when i have more time for that!! BUTTT now i wanted to let everybody know that there are really nice forums with drawings that PPG members made like these:
ANDDD i think that they deserve attention bc it is nice if we support that and there are really cool and nice drawings in those forums!!!! So i HADDD to mention them in this art forum bc that is also art!!! So i hope maybe if you have time also look in those forums and i hope that you like them!! 😊😊
I hope i can write more in this forum in the weekend bc we had really cool things in the art history class but i tell later more abt that!!!! ✨🌸🌈🌞
Hello everybody!! 🙋♀️💁♀️ I cant write a lot now bc we get visitors in our house today. BUTTTT today is Go to an Art Museum Day!!!! Here is more abt it if you want to read about the day: https://nationaltoday.com/go-art-museum-day So maybe if you dont know what to do you can visit a museum that you like!!!!! 😃 Have a nice day!!!!!! 🌈🌞🌈 Owww and maybe also a question i am curious about: what is your favourite museum now if you could visit one? 🙄🙄
@Paolonalim63 i have a question: we had today in art history class abt the museum in Florence the Ufizi. Did you go there bc or maybe @Pennarossa2024 or @Simone724 or @lucasar92 or @PaulGolem? What we saw online it is really beautiful but he said that EVERYTHING in Florence is like museum also outside!!!! Of course also other cities but he mentioned that museum now and we looked at it. 😊😊😊😇
Really beautiful i think @Paolonalim63!!! 😊😊 Did you visit Uffizi one time? We only went to Rome but i think i want to visit Florence and also Venice if we go to Italy again!! 🙂
I don't think I'll be back..... The Uffizi gallery passes over Ponte Vecchio
Good day
Do you think it is maybe the nicest place to see in your city the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi? I have not yet seen a lot of Florence but our teacher who said abt the Uffizi said that the whole city is like a super big museum!!! 😊😊
Hi @Yue_ i think it's not worth to visit the Uffizi Museum in Florence, there are too many rules, too many restrictions, the price for the ticket is pretty high, and it's very chaotic because there's always a lot of crowd, both inside and outside, while doing or checking the ticket. Inside you can find beautiful masterpieces but in my opinion it is overestimated.

Ciaoooo @Simone724!!!!!! 😊😊 It is really nice that you are online again!!! 😃 ANDDD abt the Uffizi museum if there are beautiful masterpieces i think that it is really special still to visit. Bc when we travel the museums are often super expensive. But if you dont pay that you can almost never go to a very nice museum. But what do you think is the nicest museum to visit in Italy? 🙄
Thank you! 😁 To me, if you are looking for masterpieces and pieces of history, both Egyptian Museum of Turin and Uffizi in Florence are great to visit. But you have to consider all the negative aspects that i wrote in the last message, that make those visits very, very annoying.
