Musk Politics and governments

I like Musk, at least currently, as far as he helps to keep the speech freedom and makes something for humans, like technologies. πŸ‘

(Yes, I know he have companies for money too, but something like space brand or brain implants need something more, ideas, not just money hunger. Also, I don't think he is greedy. I don't know any example of him being greedy).

so you think that freedomnof speech meens hate, lies, conspiracy...a very stupid point of view.

You need to consider who gets to say what's true and what isn't. You're probably too young to recall, but during COVID times it was the official narrative that masks and vaccines were 100% effective, and that the virus originating from China was fake news. We all know today that all these so called conspiracy theories were in fact true.

This is why you need free speech if you don't want to turn into a totalitarian society. You should be able to express yourself. And others should be able to contradict you too.

Twitter and Facebook have admitted to censoring political opponents, and I'm grateful Musk stepped in.

Give me examples of that, but coming from Musk, or some action on X, that spread lies, hate or conspiracy.

And look, You did exactly the same now: I talk about freedomspeech, but You puts words to my mouth I didn't used.

No, I think freedomspeech is when I can say something, even offensive or uncomfortable, or against someone's interest, and I'm not censured.

Also, now there is less fakenews on X that it was on twitter, since they are deleting bots and added community notes option.

etienne, in germany no one ever said that masks and vaccines were 100% safe, no one ever told that.
the conspiracy- bubble said, that the gouvernment told that. but it never told that.
i can only speak for germany.
i am out of ppg. know that i know that is a forum were it is so simple to relativate conspircy theories.

Luckily we are free to speak freely and everyone can express their opinion. Elon Musk perhaps thinks he is omnipotent. Maybe Trump thinks he is too. Putin thinks so too. Zelensky too. Even Netanyahu. Even the supreme leader of Iran. Even many billionaires who present themselves as benefactors of humanity. They are so omnipotent that they will die like me who am a poor thing. I don't like any of them. I could write a million lines explaining my reasons. I was taught this: never trust those who talk too much, those who shout too much, those who get too excited. Bye

I don't speak German but maybe some (older?) German person can confirm or not what you said. Regardless, I can tell you this was 100% the case in France and in the USA. If you're not satisfied with this example, I can give you another one: many Westerners believe Taiwan to be independent land. In China, you couldn't say so without facing consequences. Regardless of your opinion on the subject, I'm just saying that the notion of fact/truth depends on where you are at a given point of space/time. Hell, earth being round was considered fake news at some point, too. Question everything is all I'm saying. If you'd rather not, that's fine, but don't hinder those who will make the effort.

An New York Times article about Mus and X

We should note that the NYT is known to be left leaning. I skimmed through their examples, which are at best very questionable, or even just plain false. Their one screenshot about memes is representative: in July/August of this year people did go to jail for sharing memes. Of course the official reason wasn't "because they shared memes", but because they were deemed "offensive" in an attempt to undermine free speech. The end result is very much the same.

To repeat the Right-Wing conspiracy arguments like a parrot does not mean that you tell the truth. Its just parrot blah-blah. 🀣🀣

Musk and parrot πŸ•ΊπŸ¦œ

@Etienne, in your opinion, what will Musk's role be in the American government? Will he also be interested in Ukraine and Palestine and foreign policy? Musk is a friend of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni

Musk is a friend of all right-wing politicians.

And, of course, the US administration's own interests are not dangerous at all 🀣🀣🀣. Because, of course, all right-wing politicians ALWAYS tell the truth🀣🀣🀣.

That was just irony!!! And no parrot-talk🦜🦜🦜🦜

@Etienne you don't have a photo of Musk hugging Macron🧐

These are not serious arguments, evading the point just proves you wrong. Besides, Musk was a democrat until very recent, so labeling him as the typical right wing conspiracy theorist shows you don't know much about him. He explained his "shift" which can be summarized with this very relevant meme:

Musk only offered to help with decreasing bureaucracy - I'm not sure he's interested in foreign matters, nor would he legitimate to take any part of them. He successfully did it with Twitter where he fired 3/4 of the staff that he considered useless. It's now been a year and Twitter runs just as smoothly as it ever did, which means his risky bet ended up paying off. He's now a good candidate to do the same to the benefit of the people.

I take note of your response. Thank you very much.
