There are a lot of people who do use this website as a dating site.
I think it’s a little frustrating when I try to make new penpals because they usually never answer or write anything in their page, so you check their friends list and they only have the opposite gender as their "friends", so they exclusively want to date and not chat with anyone. I mean I’m trying to have friends, not dating !!! But yeah there are also people that I may know here that are dating but they do answer to other people, and that’s pretty nice. But yeah anyway I’m not about to do anything, people do whatever they wish on this website.

People should know the environment of different social media. There may be people here who have come to make friends, but in my opinion everything should have its place and everything should not be mixed up. For example, when we go on a dating app, we shouldn share or we shouldn't hide things from ourselves because it's an environment to get to know people and develop emotional relationships with people, but the thing about Penpal is that it's an app or site. It's not dating, maybe this happens sometimes, but not often, for example here... People talk and comment with others without wanting to get to know the other person very deeply or send each other photos. , they talk to each other and participate in forums, I think it's better to have everything in its place...!

I think everybody should do what they want but also that they respect what the others want each time. So if some persons date and both want that it is ok of course. Because some persons like @martutuni DID find a relationship here and @Etienne said in the interview it happened before several times. That is of course very nice. 🥰❤️ I think it is just what both persons want and that you are treating everybody nice and respectfully. 🙂

When my boyfriend and i first met, it was super friendly and not at all flirty, with time we became closer and finally fell for each other because we realised we had a really nice conection. But there has also been people in my DMs trying to flirt or saying nasty stuff up-front and that is really disgusting! Like, this is not a dating app so what makes one think im looking for a relationship here?
Maybe people need to realise that most of us would eventually fall in love or take another kind of liking in each other if they weren't forcing flirty interactions in the people theyre interested in ahaha

yes i agree, that's what i intentionally said earlier and we concern about. remembering that it's originally a penpals, to write or interaction to friends. but if you want more, make sure you both want it, use the right approaches, ask for consent and no forcing or act like it's originally made for dating only. just like what you guys did it, with steps and right approaches ☺️
i have no skeptical or negative thought about digital or long distance relationship that exist cause of this apps/web, cause actually the concern not about it.

Oh ok i thought you were maybe angry! 😛 I think that people can do anything here as long as it is nice and respectfully. And that you always first know what the other person wants. And if both want a relationship, that is very nice! And if other things like friendship, that is also cool. Just what both want and that way there is never something wrong. I just believe that. 🙂
