🌍 Scotland - Any tips? 🌍

Hello everybody!! 🙋‍♀️

Tomorrow one of our most sweet and nice PPG members (I dont say who yet because I dont know if she wants that) she will go to Scotland for more than two months!! Now maybe we can give her a nice gift from all members of PPG by writing ALL Scotland tips that you may know. 🙏🙏

If you read the forum and never wrote before: you are VERY welcome to share tips!! It is for a very lovely person and maybe she will join this forum post later too and share her tips with us! 😊😊

Depends where you’re going, take a hike in the countryside whoever it is, that’s one of the best things

Take some proper clothes. Celtic climates are nice in summer, but hardly predictable (read: it will be rainy and windy for her, most likely).

If your friend is interested in Celtic culture, then summer is usually the good moment to go to festivals if it's like Brittany. I remember I have seen a few festivals occuring in Scotland, including for music or other stuff. In the Highlands, they have the Cowal games or the HebCelt up North in Lewis island for instance.

I think that, like Isyes mentionned, hiking in the countryside and see the landscape is also one ofthe best thing to experience celtic cultures, as it shaped us, no matter which nation we belong to.

Also, if she likes history, there are sites in Scotland that might be nice. There are remains of antonin's wall (when Roman tried to invade current Scotland, which was then inhabited by Picts (Brittonic celts) and not Scottish (Gael celts).
In Lewis island, I think that there are also menhir alignment that are pre-celt era (Neolithic) if she likes the Stonehenge impression (there are generally quite a few menhirs and dolmens). THere should be an important archeological site in the Orkneys as well.

Special tips: Don't hesitate to talk to people and ask about cultural things in festivals or anything. We have interceltic festival every year in Brittany where all Celtic nations reunite just to celebrate our cultures, so it will most likely make people happy to share a part of Scotland 😉

I have shared the link with her but now she is traveling to Londen and later to Inverness in Scotland! 🙂 It looks like a very special destination and it is good that it is not like mega crowded but has nice calm nature and things to see. 😊

I cant drink alcohol yet and i prefer other drinks without alcohol!! 🙂 If there is a Scotish bubble tea I come and visit her and drink that!! 😛 What is the Brollachan? Sounds like a monster! 🧌🧌
