Ofcourse not. I hate blood and wars, so as the question states, "would you die for your COUNTRY", which means to be involved in a war, which I hate.
So my answer is a no

I just read all the last messages.
Oxiu: good forces to defend againt evil ones. Manichean way of thinking and who protects from the protector?
The others: a few people said they will if they have no choice or are forced. You mean if the law tells you to do so or if the situation lets you no alternative?
As far as I'm concerned, I'd rather break the law than die in it's name. But I had sometimes been in citizen insurrections and defended places the industries wanted to be destroyed to build something else instead. Don't worry, noone died. But I think a country is built by its people (from inside and from outside, even by strangers who live in it), and not by the power.
And even if the law wanted me to fight, I couldn't because of my blindness.

World War II for example and Nazi invasion. Or invasion of Bolsheviks. What it is if not fight with evil that wants conquer Your country, deal suffer to people and destroy what You love - culture, tradition, memory.

History is full of conflicts like this.

Yes, but thosa forces who protect us from those kinds of ennemies also invade other countries for official good reasons. So even if we need them to protect us, we also need to be protected from them.

No, not always they invade. Not every country is invading others, through generations and ages it's of course different (Rome Empire doesn't exist currently of course), but You even can't invade anyone when You are occupied by someone. Wars have many heroes that are famous just because of defending. Never invasions. Their whole service is only about defending.

Since victory and power walk hand to hand, the victorious usually corrupts after the victory. Remember the Praetorian Guards of Rome. They were designated as personal security escort of the Emperors. But by time they started to influence upon imperial politics the Praetorians could overthrow an emperor, even worse they have killed some Emperors. They always justified their actions by telling that "they were doing all those acts for the sake of "defending the Empire." All in all, if there is a knife on the table, you can either slice a bread or stab a man. It all depends on the hand and there is no guarantee in that.

Yes. But humanity have persons in the history that shows really good difference from being evil. What You are guys talking is: what if the emperor/government will use military to do bad things?

Of course, but we know when they are doing bad things, and we also know when they don't. To soldiers defending their country on their own territory You can't say: hey guys, You are doing wrong. Stop fighting. Stop killing.

Reasons behind war define if it's right or wrong. If we don't reject the fact that we don't live in Utopia, but our reality.

It's not so different from fighting with someone on the street, when he attacks You, or when he attacks someone defensless or someone important to You.

I see some... Kind of voices, that dying for something important or being soldier is absolutely bad.

Some people are, in the Russian invasion of ukrain 40 people are dead of Russia allready

_-_ _-_

In the past days I saw a few videos of Ukrainian citizens going back to eastern Ukraine to defend their country. I have mad respect for those people, because I don't think I could en would die for my country. However, I could change my mind if something like in the Ukraine happened to the Netherlands.

Yes. The highest admiration for Ukrainians. They are example of bravery and sacrafice, and love for their country. Noone can say now that they are not nation.

Glory for Ukraine.

i think not

I would never die for a country, but I would die for some people.

Yes. I am going to be in the US military. So 100%

I am not willing to sacrifice my life to make politicians more powerful. They always save their lives and their families, and these are ordinary people who are killed. I risk my life just to save my family.
