19?!? 18?!? 17?!? that is totally new for me!
I guess it's a good time to ask @Etienne about his feelings after 17 years of penpaling and work on this website. Did you somewhat reach what you expected to do at first or not? Maybe did it go beyond your expectations?
Have you ever imagined that, 17 years later, you'd still be on that project and have someone opening a topic to celebrate it?
Anyway, thanks for the forum. I'm not so active by private messages, but the forum sure offered me a nice place to put my lugages and find about people from different background π
on PenPalWorld my father says the admin is suppost to be having a profile too, but on TrustPilot ive read from many people that they were mad at the admin cuz he didnt reply to the messages, atleast on the email.
@Etienne has a profile and is daily active, we all may be very happy with this administrator π

And if you ask @Etienne a question he always replayπ

Yes I was 18, I picked up programming when I was 15 (my code quality was terrible then, but I guess it worked? π)

I probably wouldn't have thought I'd still dedicate so much time on this project many years later. I'm happy with all the features that PPG offers today, most penpal websites out there don't offer nearly as much and have even seemingly stopped receiving updates many years ago. I just wish Google recognized that and ranked PPG a bit higher, the competition is very tough it's hard to get new members. π
That said I'm very happy that many people found meaningful friends, and some even found their soulmate! I said it before and I'll say it again: THANK YOU to everyone who participate in PPG, especially those in the forum because they are the most visible. Thank you for making it such a fun an active place, I really mean it, you are the core of everything! π
Congratulations on this landmark achievement! The footprint of this penpal site in the lives of its members is clearly visible when reading the above comments.
Disregarding the concept of βwishful thinkingβ we always tell our daughters that they are at liberty to βroam freeβ as from the age of 30+ (instead of 18). Perhaps a similar strategy could be adopted by Etienne regarding his virtual offspring.
This penpal site seems to be very much alive and thriving! It has matured well before reaching adulthood. Well done!
