Hello everybody! 🙋‍♀️ What do you eat in your country to celebrate the New Year?

I do eat oliebollen yes, with a lot of powdered sugar. Sometimes a bit too much tho 😅🤭 I usually bake them with my mom, but this year we're just going to buy them. ⭐ Have a nice 2025!! 🥂🎊🎆

I looked up on google what raclette is but i think that is SUPER heavy with lots of cheese. I think i prefer the nudelsalat what you mentioned!! That looks very nice!! 🙂

It is nicer with appel buth also heavy the same als oliebollen

That is true but the apple makes it taste a little bit less heavy!! It tastes more fresh and fruity and the oliebol makes you feel like a living oliebol.

Haha yes I do. Usually up to 5 in 2 days. Mostly in the afternoon, as it would be too much right after dinner. Gelukkig Nieuwjaar. 😊🌼

Goedemorgen! We have visited South Africa numerous times for both work and meeting up with friends who live in SA and across the northern border in Botswana. As an unwritten rule, we always communicate in English (despite our version being somewhat similar to primitive attempts of modern cavemen). Whenever we speak Dutch, there is not a single secret that remains hidden. They understand every single word and can easily unveil "secret codes" in Dutch. The common joke is that contemporary Dutch is akin to Shakespearian English. Posh in nature and with complexities of a Victorian cult (all to their amusement). With some proper effort, we can understand more than "bits and pieces". But to decipher Afrikaans...it still remains a jigsaw puzzle to solve.
