Ciao, È fantastico, ne sono molto felice. Scriva pure in italiano, lo capisco anch'io! 🙂 E possiamo anche ricorrere a dei traduttori.

Sul nostro canale YouTube ci sono anche delle preghiere in latino 🙂

@Qleqk: It is rather the question WHO is not listening: God or us. First, it is only a minority of people who are praying. And a minority of the people who pray truly surrender them to the loving providence of God. They stay in their sins, not willing to change, to listen and follow God. Many of us rather want God to adapt to our (silly) plans than to live according to his will. God is here, He listens, He answers, but often His help is not what people want.

2. There are hundreds and thousands of amazing miracles approven by science and the Church where God healt sick ones thanks to prayer etc.

3. It matters WHO you pray to. There is only one true God, and many rather worship gods who wont be able to help nor exist actually.

4. There is plenty of sin in our world. We are all sinners. And that is basically the main reason for the aweful situation in our world, since the original sin.

5. And the "innocent suffering" is precious in the eyes of God. Remember the salvation at the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

@Wolkenpaule: good thoughts, thanks for sharing. 🙂 In addition, prayer is way more than only thanks and ask for graces. There are different levels of prayer and if you discovered a little bit more...it is so amazing, actually the most beautiful thing to spend your time with. God listens...to us! to us unworthy sinners. He is patient, he is there. That´s wonderful.

Sorry, but I highly doubt that people got healed because of prayers. Many so-called miracle healings can be explained by spontaneous remission, misdiagnosis, or psychological effects like the placebo effect. Praying can promote mental health by reducing stress and strengthening coping strategies but that's psychology.

Why are some people healed when they pray, but others who have been religious their whole lives are not? Why do some people have to suffer extreme pain when God could heal them all? And I'm talking about illnesses that were not caused due to their own fault

Sure, I can understand your doubts, and I am very well-informed about medical topics for private reasons.

1. You can check Lourdes for example. Bones regrew thanks to the help of Our Lady. Or Saint Padre Pio di Pietrelcina: a child without eyes could see thanks to the intercession of the blessed Virgin and his prayer. Furthermore, I have read a report about a woman with a very special type of cancer that has never been healt before. She prayed - and was healt. She found her faith thanks to this miracle.

Miracles are always in favour of the soul (sometimes in favour of the body, too).

Maybe, sometimes to be healt is not the best for the soul.

2. God suffered more than any human being when He died for us at the Cross. Remember this.

The topic of the theodizee is very complex and I can only give some thoughts here.

3. The benefits of prayer are NOT only psychological. But this will remain a matter of faith after all and is useless to discuss.

Rosary and it's "expanded version" like Pompeian Novenna.

But mostly I just pray with my own words.

I pray. I wouldn’t say I’m a particularly religious person, but it helps me calm down and gather my strength in difficult moments. Most of the time I pray in my own words; however, when I was drafted into the war, I carried an Orthodox prayer book with me. As for favorite prayers and church hymns… I like both Catholic and Orthodox ones. They sound amazing.

Wow, that´s great! The Pompeian Novena is really intensive prayer. https://traditionalcatholiclife.blogspot.com/2025/11/the-psalter-of-our-lady-rosary-advanced.html For those who don´t know it yet, I shared a link where I mentioned it. So far, I have only once said this long novena, but it is amazing!

Wonderful, You can share some examples, maybe? Always interested in discovering some new ones. 🙂

I am also not religious, but my family has a way of "praying" to hope something will go well, such as getting a car started we've got for sale: we put a candle on the table. And we also do that for others, such as people who land in jail for no reason.

I agree with @Qleqk (a good friend of mine), that I don't really have the impression someones listening to the praying, unless your talking about the ghost on our farm of course. Because I see no evidense why god ore bible might be trough and no fantasy, I am not religious.

I had the same doubts at your age, too. They lasted for some years...until...well, I really discovered God. 🙂

Recommendation: 5 ways to God by Thomas Aquinas. This is a logical approach to truth/ the principe of God.

You kept interests in God all those years, didn't you?

Sorry, but I'm reading Billy Connoly now. Besides, I'm not really the person who enjoy such serious books. "5 ways to God" doesn't sound like it contains any humor.

Oh, it is not meant as a book recommendation. I`ll give you a very short summary: Everything that exists here around has an origin. We have parents, the animals have parents and so on. Everything has an origin. So, there must logically be sth without origin which is the origin of everything. This is what we usually call "God". It is simply logic. This is kind of an "evidence" for the existence of God.

I have a good sense of humour, too, and to be honest, I really like to read cartoons and children books, too. Saint biographies sometimes contain good sense of humour, too. Maybe Saint Giovanni Bosco, Philip Neri...Wilhelm Hünermann writes very nice.

Yes, increasing interest. It is like once you caught fire, this fire in your heart (for God) will increase continuously. Well, I´ll give a little testimony. You know, I went through many doubts during my youth, really hard doubts, if God exists at all, and concerning the doctrine of the Church. But - always, when looking closer, asking seriously and honestly, I realized that it is the truth.

Will be absent from forum for a while. God bless.

What about the teee? I believe more in the tree as parent then in God.

Here's a though: All these millions of people all over the world praying... yet the world is a hellhole and human misery is the game and always was.

Doesn't seem like anyone is listening, does it?

"It seems."...But I know that God listens, but respects the freedom of those who don't want to follow a path to a better life.
For me, praying is being with God, who loves me immensely... praying is communicating with God... prayer is a personal relationship... perhaps this world still exists because there are still some who pray. I apologize, I only speak Italian and I used the translator.

All good.

Sono i benvenuti e anche l'italiano non è un problema 🙂 Sono completamente d'accordo con lei. 🙂
