Do You pray? Which is Your favourite prayer? (Topic especially meant for other Christians.)

I like different types of Catholic prayers, e. g. the rosary. I pray preferably in Latin, but also in my mother tongue (German).

I am a Christian so yes I pray and I just pray simple prayers.

I know people who are pray powerful prayers but mine are just simple.

Great! Simple prayers are often the best ones, I agree on that. ๐Ÿ™‚ Which confession do You belong to? Do You make Your prayers Yourself, use Your own words? Or others? ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes i pray

Yes i pray

Great, could You tell us a little bit more? ๐Ÿ™‚

Which is Your confession and how do You pray? Do You have a favourite prayer? God bless โœจ

Oh, I understand. Are You a convertite or have always been muslim?

What do You think about asking the saints for their prayer? Like asking the blessed Virgin Mary to pray for You?

@Pope: There are not so many other Catholics here in Germany...great, thatยดs one of my favourites, too! https://www.youtube.com/@trad.catholiclife/shorts

Maybe You will like to subscribe for our channel ๐Ÿ™‚ It is mainly about prayer, but also other topics related to the Catholic faith are in progress. ๐Ÿ™‚

@MariaRosary I just use my own words to pray.

And again they are usually very sweet and simple.

Very nice, thank you for your response. ๐Ÿ™‚ I also like to e. g. first thank for everything, every little thing that happened that day. And then I just ask for special intentions...and finally surrender everything to His will. Very simple, too ๐Ÿ™‚

@MariaRosary it is interesting how people pray differently.

And I know that I think it's in May is the national day of prayer.

And I think that having something like that is a great idea

Wow, I did not know about this Day of Prayer! Very interesting. I also always like to learn more about how other people pray ๐Ÿ™‚

@MariaRosary yeah look it up. I think it's on May 7th this year.

I'm not religious so I don't pray

Ciao. Anche io amo molto la preghiera del rosario. Amo molto meditare il Vangelo, il brano della liturgia del giorno.

Amo condividere questo argomento ma parlo solo italiano....

Here's a though: All these millions of people all over the world praying... yet the world is a hellhole and human misery is the game and always was.

Doesn't seem like anyone is listening, does it?

Here is a thought - in times of trouble you try to get help wherevere you can get it. And maybe you remember during the good times that you can`t take it for granted when you are well.

@Qleqk: It is rather the question WHO is not listening: God or us. First, it is only a minority of people who are praying. And a minority of the people who pray truly surrender them to the loving providence of God. They stay in their sins, not willing to change, to listen and follow God. Many of us rather want God to adapt to our (silly) plans than to live according to his will. God is here, He listens, He answers, but often His help is not what people want.

2. There are hundreds and thousands of amazing miracles approven by science and the Church where God healt sick ones thanks to prayer etc.

3. It matters WHO you pray to. There is only one true God, and many rather worship gods who wont be able to help nor exist actually.

4. There is plenty of sin in our world. We are all sinners. And that is basically the main reason for the aweful situation in our world, since the original sin.

5. And the "innocent suffering" is precious in the eyes of God. Remember the salvation at the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

@Wolkenpaule: good thoughts, thanks for sharing. ๐Ÿ™‚ In addition, prayer is way more than only thanks and ask for graces. There are different levels of prayer and if you discovered a little bit more...it is so amazing, actually the most beautiful thing to spend your time with. God listens...to us! to us unworthy sinners. He is patient, he is there. Thatยดs wonderful.
