Hiii! Actually, on the contrary I’ve never had an accident happening to me, thanks to heavens! I do bump into stuff and Ive been told it’s probably due to my adhd, but it can happen to anyone hahah. Like, i take too closed turns or just shortcuts and completely forget about my bed being in the way 😑 its ironic being an architect because one does develop a space intelligence! But yeah I’ve never been in an accident! Hope it keeps being that way

BUTTT i have a thought about it. I have a LOTTT of accidents like bumping into the table. But the tables are too heavy so they win. And i think that longer people have LESSSS accidents. But it can also be that tables and chairs hate smaller people bc we are both below 1.54 m so that can be why. Like a TABLE COMPLOT!!!!! 😛

But i have never been in a hospital for a heavy accident. And i hope most here also did not go to the hospital for that. 😬😬

Same on the hyper mobility - they considered EDS but it's not it. I'm not uncoordinated if I'm paying attention but I'm quite easily distracted, so I end up bumping on thing or falling down often enough. Because of that, I avoid doing anything that is more dangerous and also avoid contact sports.

I think they thought of EDS for me because it's the most known hipermobility syndrome, and now they say mine is not related to any syndrome so idk. Have other stuff as well so I'll probably keep trying to understand.

Hypotonia as well must make it more likely to lubluxate a joint, so hope you're doing alright.

Yes, I'm kinda unfortunate at this point @Yue_. I made a bad fall at home and I've been having physiotherapy for over half a year now and recently I bruised my wrist as well. It sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤕😕

➡️ Are you an accidents magnet? 🧲 And if yes what kind of things normally happen? And did you even have to go to the hospital or first aid once?

Not really, but the more effort I put into a project, the more the chances that it won't work increase, I have no idea why. Sometimes I bump into things also, but not often. I like small spaces so I'm used to walking like a cartoon character if I have to, to not bump into stuff and all.

Thanks @Ilexforest and @Anna2810 for replying but can i ask what is hypermobile and EDS? I will google later after school but maybe you can explain a bit. Thank you very much!!! 🙏🙏

And that really is terrible @-Kiki-!!! What happened at home that you fell?? You CAN'T jump out of beds anymore!!!!!!!! 😛 Sorry that is a joke!! But i hope you get better soon also with your wrist!!! 🤗🤗🥰🥰🥰

@Miss_Penpal i REALLLYYY must see how you walk like a cartoon character!!!!! 🤭🤭 I often walk like a penguin BUTTT it is NOTTT my fault. Bc the bag i have is too heavy so when i can i just leave books in my locker but still with books and laptop and drink and other things it is HEAVYY if you walk all the time with it. So maybe it is a bit the same!!

I wasn't paying attention to something, let's keep it at that haha. Thank you, I hope it gets better soon as well!! 🥰🥰😇🙏🙏

Hypermobile is having very “stretchy” joint, so for example my thumb can touch my forearm and when I stand up my knees are not straight but a bit curved back. That makes it a bit easier to hurt yourself - like if you twist your ankle, it twists further and makes it easier to hurt ligaments and tendons.

EDS is Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which would explain why someone has hyprtmobility but it’s not the only reason for it.

Thank you very much @Anna2810 that you explained it!! I did not know about it at all. But I hope that it does not create a lot of problems for you.

In any case i am happy that you and also @Ilexforest are here on the forum bc that makes it much nicer!!! 🤗🤗😊😊

Hello everybody!! 🙋‍♀️ This is just a mini forum to ask:

➡️ Are you an accidents magnet? 🧲 And if yes what kind of things normally happen? And did you even have to go to the hospital or first aid once?

I normally bump into things that dont move (like a table or chair or when im on my bike against anything it can happen). When i was super small i also often fell over my legs but that was only bc i was not patient enough or not very good with the radar in my head. BUTTT it does not happen often anymore (but if it does it is super embarrassing). 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

So what about YOU? 🙄🙄

PS: The questions are for everybody who reads this forum. Hahaha yeah i'm totally an accident magnet! 🧲😂 i always end up cutting myself while chopping veggies with a knife 😵‍💫 Also i randomly bite my cheek while eating and Omg it’s SO painful and annoying! 🙃 and my hands!! always burning from hot stuff in the kitchen 😭

Omggg @psysarah15 how do you bite your cheek when you are eating????? 😳😳😳 If that happens a good tip: take small bites. And what helps is if you eat with chopsticks bc you normally take smaller bites. 🥢🥢

@Yue_ you know those circus contorsionists? (Slangenmens in Dutch) theyre like the extreme but well trained version kinda

I had NOOO idea what you meant but you wrote in Dutch too so that helped!!! 😛 So they can control it and it is more extreme with them? Only if you want to answer: but how does it do things with you? I mean like affecting you?

'Slangenmensen are specifically trained i guess

And my 'fysiotherapeut' said if your muscles are strong(er) then its often more manageable

Do you get special help from your fysiotherapeut that he helps with making you stronger? That would be really good so you have less troubles and that you can do more things.

Yes, am an accident magnet. I have broken.... My foot, 5th lumbar, pelvis 2 times in multiple locations, Andonce in a car accident at 5 I was hit. Once a few years ago horseback riding accident. I kicked the dog's bone walking through the living room busted 2 toes. hmmmm Oh right! Almost forgot my clavicle when I was about 13 busted that too.... and one of my ribs a couple years ago. 🙂

That is a LOTTTT @Wildflower-Farm!! 😳😳 I thought that i had a LOT of accidents but it is normally for me bumping into things that win from me like a table or a chair. They just keep in the same place and i have a bruise or a blue spot. When i was small i walked a lot on my toes and i had to learn to do it differently bc if you walk like that the muscles or the things between the muscles and the bones grow weird. I dont know exactly how to explain it but i had to learn to walk on your feet normally and not on your toes. BUTTT i was not the only one like that.

And dont be like this @Wildflower-Farm 😛 😛

Haha don’t even ask how i’m confused too! 🤦‍♀️😂 But thank youuu 🤗💗

yeh, it is a lot. But I survive. Oh I wasn't even counting bruises. Once I bruises terribly the whole length of my right leg. Another time it was my arse and I couldn't sit for 2 weeks. But that is just part of horseback riding. Sometimes you fall. If all you get is a bruise you thank the gods. Even when it is a terrible bruise. I once ran in to my cousin caused a black eye when I was about 4. I often have bruises all over myself and I don't even know how I got them. I am just that accident prone that at this point I don't even keep track.

You walk into things? My sister used to do that..... I learned to talk very young. She started walking very early.
I remember her not understanding that you can't walk through things. She used to try to walk through walls oblivious as to the purpose of doors. She was about 10 months old. She would walk or even run face first into them fall down and then start screaming....

Last time I broke my pelvis in 3 places I was in the hospital for 2 weeks, they had me on morphine. Then I spent the next 2 years higher than a kite on a legal herbal substance in my state because it is a pain killer and anti inflamatory and not an opiod. I was chronically just a little bit high. For literally years.
