This is a new forum about AI and if it is good or evil. What do you think?

Of course ChatGPT can be super useful for homework or if you have to make a text about something.

But did you know that it can also be used if people have autism? They can train social skills with ChatGPT. This was mentioned in the first episode of a Dutch docu i watched about AI love. If you can speak Dutch you can see the episode here: https://www.human.nl/ai-love.html

In the docu you can also see a man who has a relationship with the avatar AIVA. In Japan there are even a LOT of men who dont want to date a real girl anymore because they prefer AI girlfriends. Also some women are dating chatbots. Do men really think it is better?? 🙄🙄

In the docu the man had difficulties because of violence in his youth so he felt more comfortable with the AI girlfriend. I dont know why so many Japanese men prefer AI girlfriends or why women are dating chatbots.

And one woman who is blind was really happy because she discovered the app Be my Eyes. You can make a photo of where you are or if you get a photo and the app will tell you everything about it (for example is the sky blue, what are people wearing, are they smiling). So for example she got a photo of her daughter who was camping. And she could use the app to know that her daughter had a good time and what it was like where her daughter was. She said it helped her be more in the real world too even when she is blind and it made her super happy.

And there was a man who wanted that if he died he would be frozen in a special way so in the future he could be cloned in a digital computer. And his daughter or others can still speak with him if his brain is cloned in the computer. And now he hopes that his wife will choose that too and later his daughter.

Sorry if i made mistakes with the above but i just tried to write what was mentioned in the documentary. I will update this forum when i saw the next episode and search things about them online again.

I don't think AI is "good" or "evil", AI is a tool - just like cars. Of course there are significant challenges that will need to be addressed, I think it will create a ton of great things, while also damaging many others. We may be living at the most interesting time of mankind! Very exciting and scary.

And there are also very nice things about AI and the blind woman is a good example. I also want to see about the boy with autism who uses ChatGPT to help his social skills but that is in the next episode! 😛

I always think the fastest about the scary!! But this docu shows how it can also be used in a good way. I dont think that AI girlfriends are good and the cryonics sounds scary too. But the app for blind people made her really happy!! And i am curious about the boy with autism using AI to help him. So this documentary shows also a lot of good things too about AI.

And I am curious what other good things are maybe about AI that most people dont know.

In fact, in my institute, AI itself is still often debated regarding its existence.

Okay, I won't deny how advanced this technology is, especially since there are so many features they provide, I myself use it to reflect on myself, ask AI about if I feel confused, don't understand and so on.

Moreover, now there are so many AI websites that provide design/art services for free & paid. In some ways, the existence of AI not only does it disrupt the children's academic process, but it also harms some industries.

That is why there is a need for very strict and wise regulations so that this AI technology can function optimally and not cause setbacks. it's regulation is very necessary and more focus for users, since AI itself only a tool.

I usually & most of time only use chat.gpt, eventhought i know other AI but i won't mention it.

yeah, that's why the strict regulation needed to limit the user bad intention. Thank you @Simone724 and @mayuuram!! 🤗🤗 And i heard about what you wrote about Taylor Swift @mayuuram but we even heard that in schools they made naked fakes of students. Even if they get punished for that of course it is a super damaging thing of AI too!!

But I think there are also good things about AI. For example if you watch Netflix or YouTube it can know what to recommend to you. Often they are videos i like much more than others so it really does work.

One advantage i did not think of is of course 24/7 availability (so it works anytime)! And one disadvantage i didnt think of was the energy. So to make one AI image costs the same energy to charge your phone. So with the amount of AI things that are created every day and more in the future: that is a LOTTTT of energy. 🙄🙄

I hate Siri and Alexa because you never know if it's possible to hack it and listen to what you say in your house. It must be always listening in to know when you call for it, and that's just creepy. It could be recording for all you know. I personally dislike AI, so I don't have any examples of 'good' AIs to give, but I think at least some of them are not completely bad.

Also AI images suck, it's either obvious it's fake, or too well done and used wrong.

I did not think at all yet about Siri and Alexa but you are right. But is even for example Google also AI? Because not everything that is digital and smart is AI right but i am not sure what is exactly the line between AI and normal computer stuff. If Google can learn from itself (for example also what other people enter as search) i think it is also AI.

I like ai because it can do my homework

I find AI useful, and generally... As something good for humanity, but I agree with these scientists, futurologists and visioners, who postulate for slowing down AI implementation and being more cautious.

Not because of terminators and androids killing us, but... We are not so far from making the internet full of fake news, flood of trash informations, and let's remember: there are people that will want AI to make bad things.

And for sure it's not calming, when I hear some scientist saying: "Yeah, the AI is so awesome! We don't even fully understand how it is learning so fast! I'm so excited!"

and AI rn, actually still a Machine Learning Engine & Search engine whose approach is more like a human. AI rn is only marketing strategies to wow company, to wow people, and the expert even lies to us (in news) and trying to Monopoly as they fool everyone they finally succeed in making AI, while actually hasn't yet.
