βœ¨πŸŽ„ The Christmas forum πŸŽ…πŸ«Ž Everyday life and customs

Hello everybody! πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ This is the Christmas forum!! πŸŽ…πŸŽ…πŸ«Ž You can post anything you want about Christmas like funny pictures of Father Christmas or your Christmas tree or questions or comments or ANYTHING you like (even if you dont celebrate it of course)!!

I have four questions and i hope others like replying what they think:

1️⃣ You have to cook Christmas dinner for ONE person (for example a person you ❀️ or a friend you lost perhaps contact with or a member from PPG or a famous person). Who would you choose and what would you cook? πŸ™‚ You cant order take away so you really have to cook it (even if you cant yet make the dish)! πŸ˜›

2️⃣ Do you wear funny Christmas sweaters or socks or do you wear very nice looking outfits when you celebrate the Christmas days with family or friends? And if you don't celebrate it with others: what WOULD you wear if you are invited at a PPG Christmas Day? πŸ˜›

3️⃣ There is miscletoe!!! 🌿 Would you kiss somebody (for example your partner or secret person you πŸ₯° or PPG member or somebody else)? You dont have to tell the name if you dont want that! 🫣🫣🀭🀭

4️⃣ If you don't yet celebrate Christmas, do you think it would be fun to start with that? πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŒ²βœ¨βœ¨πŸŒ²πŸŒ²πŸ’«πŸŒ²

EDIT: Like i just asked @Emmi1711 i have a new question too:

➑️ Do you have a real Christmas tree or one that you can use each year? And if you DON'T have a Christmas tree, which one would you like the most? And what do you decorate it with? Anything or for example candies only or only lights or other special decorations? πŸ™‚

I am curious about everybody's answer, but can i ask if my friends want to answer here too if they want: @Roseeeee, @Emmi1711, @Etienne, @Pennarossa2024, @LandRoverDiscovery2, @Esma-Nur, @Fleurke, @-Kiki-, @Simone724, @Sabri_KC, @Lianshen, @HappyvomSee, @H_E_A_R_T, @mayuuram, @martutuni, @PaulGolem, @steve-san, @Sarahsalah27, @Parsaa, @Nana232, @Annika2007, @Piwipete and i think i forget others but i hope a lot of people like to celebrate a bit Christmas already on this forum!! πŸπŸ‚πŸ›·β›ΈοΈπŸ§‘β€πŸŽ„β„οΈβ˜ƒοΈπŸ«§πŸ€Άβœ¨πŸŽ„πŸ«ŽπŸ„πŸŽ…πŸ₯°

1 pine tree, very healthy

2 no

3 perhaps......

4..... idk ........

5 probably one made out of car parts.

Why do you think this is disappointing? If anything it's nice other countries have their own customs and traditions, that's what this very forum is about! For instance I recently learned that you guys' weekends aren't Saturday/Sunday but Thursday/Friday if I'm not mistaken

I understand what you mean but people can for example see Christmas in Western countries from what they hear or maybe when they travel or see it on tv and that they would like something like that. I also understand that because i have that a lot myself!! But for me it is more maybe to see it one or several times like for example I saw on our Videoland app in my country MAFS Australia and there was an Indian wedding. That was VERY special and different than in my country. But i would not want to move to India but i would like to be at an Indian wedding at least one time and look at everything!! ❀️❀️

Yes thats right, i should go to school today🀦😊 actually i opened a forum and wrote about 20 lines in it. Explaining one of our traditions. But,,,,, i accidentally closed it πŸ˜πŸ˜…πŸ₯² maybe i will create it again when we are closer to it. And

New question:

➑️ What is your favourite Chrismas song? And can you also tell which is your favourite Christmas song in your language now or in the past? πŸ₯°πŸŽ…

I would probably give some delicatessen before starting, then a soup eventually. Main dish would be a roasted capon with roasted potatoes and for dessert, I'd try to make a yule log.
I would do it for my partner I guess.

Yule log is this:

In fact, I already have made a yule log and some bread for a Christmas dinner when I was a student exchange (I don't remember if I made something else for that time). I had to do the yule log twice for it to be okayish and ate the failed one alone πŸ˜…

Normal clothes is fine. I never understood why I'd buy a sweater that I would wear only once a year πŸ€”

I think that, in France, it is rather for the New Year? We can also use holly instead of mistletoe, even if holly is more related to Christmas. If a couple kiss under those plants (maybe more mistletoe though) during New year Eve, then it is said that they will marry within the year.

My family had a artificial tree, but it hasn't been out for years. I think I would use an artificial as well if I had one. Natural ones are nice, but I find them way too flammmable and I am too lazy to deal with it when it's time to throw it away. Puting it back in a box and sending it to the attic is more convenient to me.
For me, decorations are christmas baubles, garlands, a start on the top of the tree and eventually a light garland. However, I think having just a tree and pine cones for decoration with a star on the top can be a nice way to get a unique and nice tree every year, provided that you take the time to paint or decorate the pine cones.

Thank you very much for your nice answers @Lianshen!! And it looks super complicated to make the dish yule!! And i looked online and i found this recipe: https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/buche-de-noel-yule-log/ πŸ™‚
