@shirazikira can you maybe explain aasana and pranayam? is that special meditation?

Sure @Yue_ !

Aasana and Pranayama are part of Yoga.

Aasana can be recognized as Yoga postures that build strength, flexibility and balance. Aasanas are beneficial for the muscles, joints, cardiovascular system, nervous system and lymphatic system, as well as the mind, psyche and Chakras (energy centres).

Pranayama can be recognized as exercise to control breath that helps regulate energy flow and calm the mind.

Together, they are fundamental practice in Hatha Yoga, promoting both physical and mental well-being.

Woww that is really cool @shirazikira!!! I think maybe if you do one day one of the forms and the other day the other than you get from both a lot of good things!!! I think sometimes that SOME benefits you can also get for example from ballet or medidation if you focus on the breathing right? Bc with ballet you also get strength, flexibility and balance that you mentioned. And with meditation i do the breathing and you focus on it so for example how it feels and you try to focus about your belly and you feel calmer if your head is not SUPER active bc sometimes you can also have a lot of thoughts. But if that does not happen i think it can also be a little bit like the pranayama like you said. πŸ™‚

@Yue_, I liked how you connected everything together. You are right, ballet seems to bring so much... strength, flexibility, and that graceful kind of balance, both physically and mentally. Whether it is in meditation, pranayama, or even ballet, it really helps center you… when your mind is not going a hundred directions at once! πŸ˜„ I guess that’s the tricky part that learning to stay with the breath when thoughts come and go. Being thoughtless, that's very crucial, so I regularly focus on my breath and belly movements, then gradually I shorten my breath to chest and focus on that, and then I shorten it to my neck and focus on that. After some time I come back to normal breathing process and focus on the light on lamp. The entire process takes 20-30 minutes, but it fills energy for the entire day!!!

That is really nice what you wrote @shirazikira and i agree absolutely!!!!! I think you can do things in different ways like for example yoga or ballet or meditation or other things too. And everybody can choose what they like and helps them the MOST!!!

But it is nice to learn about it from each other and try a lot of different new things. And i liked that you told about things you do bc they are different but also similar so that is nice to know about it i think!!! πŸ™‚

i looked it up on youtube @Norm and i think it is really cool that they do that bc i think that yoga should be for everybody!!! and i think you can do it sitting or standing or on the floor. and you get calm from it and it is also super healthy bc you get exercise from it too and with stretching it is good for energy circulation too. πŸ™‚

@shirazikira can you maybe explain aasana and pranayam? is that special meditation? and @-Kiki- what kind of meditation do you like? i try now every day with breathing exercise so what you do is you breath calmly and you focus on your breathing and how it feels for you. but my head is sometimes thinking of a lot of things but i try to focus again on breathing as much as possible. but i think it is a LOTTT more difficult than maybe people think!!! πŸ™„πŸ™„

Thanks for asking. I usually use Insight Timer for meditations or I sit in silence.

Does anybody know about CatCow Festival for Yoga & Retreat that held in Germany every year? This year it is held on 2nd July to 6th July. One, who likes yoga and in Germany or near by country, should be part of the festival.

That is really cool!! Maybe @H_E_A_R_T and @Txya know more about it? πŸ™„πŸ™„ Or maybe @-Kiki-? πŸ™‚

Oh I haven't heard about that, sounds cool!

Hello everybody! πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ I have a question but i am not sure if it is weird bc it can be different for every person. But i try to explain it.

If you need energy you can drink for example something with sugar or an energy drink. I dont really drink it bc i would end with belly cramps fast. BUTTTTT for most people they get energy from it.

➑️ My question is: are there in the same way drinks or foods that make you CALM? I know for example hot tea (not bubble or ice tea) can make you calm. For example if you have belly ache herbal tea can really help. But are there OTHER drinks or foods that can make most people calm? And not bc they just believe it but bc it REALLY works? πŸ™„πŸ™„

Thank you very much for everybody who reads it and maybe has good ideas about it. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Camomillethea

I'm not exactly sure if it makes you calm, but I heard banana and kiwi (30 min before sleeping) are good before you go to bed. And hot milk with honey helps before going to bed as well!

...when you add the honey, the milk shouldn`t be more than 40Β°C!!!

...when you add the honey, the milk shouldn`t be more than 40Β°C!!!

Why's that? I haven't had any trouble with it.

When honey is heated above 40Β°C, many of the enzymes it contains are destroyed.
But that is not the only reason.
I know someone who studied Ayurveda and he recommends not to heaten it.
Science often can`t explain everything, there are a lot of theories.
The key to "know" whatΒ΄s best is to develop consciousness.

And the fact that you haven`t had any trouble yet, doesn`t mean that there isn`t any harm.
The body is regulating a lot but you don`t have to challenge it.

There is already so much chaos in the world and in our bodies.
We better focus on the life-enhancing stuff.
That will definitely bring peace and calm yourself.

Best wishes for that

Thank you for explaining that, I didn't know. I'll keep it in mind for future reference πŸ‘

Thank you very much for the tips!! But i have a question: if you drink tea and honey it is warmer than 40 degrees so that is also a problem? I like sometimes to put honey in yoghurt with cerials and berries. But that is cold not warm. πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

That's nice! Or a strawberry smoothie with yoghurt and honey! I tried that one for the first time yesterday!

That is a good idea!!! Strawberries are my favourite fruits but i also try to eat blue berries bc they are super healthy and you get more energy. But from only the taste i think strawberries when they are soft (so not super hard) they are the BESTTT fruit from everything else. My mom knows this and when for example i have exams or smt important she buys strawberries. πŸ™‚ And one time my dad made a mistake and he did not say sorry bc that is sometimes difficult for him. But he bought a box of strawberries from the Albert Heijn super market and that is his way to say sorry. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°
