PPG University - History of Sigiriya Sri Lanka (8th wonder of the world) Anything and everything

Hi everyone, today's post for those who love history. This is about a historical place in Sri Lanka which has most tourist attraction. I hope that this will help you if you hope to visit Sri Lanka.

This is about Sigiriya also known as Lion rock Sri Lanka. This placed has announced as an 8th wonder of the world by UNESCO. Sigiriya is a Palace which built on a rock. You can find pics on google. According to written history this was the main palace of King Ravana who lives 5000years ago. After ages, in Anuradhapura Kingdom period this place also used as a caste by King Kashyapa who lives in 5th century AD

There are some reasons for that UNESCO named this as an 8th wonder. Main reason is its technology. According to written evidence there was solar elevators to travel the top of the rock. And also, it says that like the top of the rock, a seven-story palace was built in the center of the rock as a hole. But this both facts aren't archeologically proven yet because some of the issues archeological tests.

If I talk the facts which has archeologically proven it is the technology of garden technology and the water system. How about garden technology, there are four main roads on the four sides of the rock to enter the palace. These four roads have been constructed directly through the center point of the rock. If you look at it from the sky, you can see the roads like a sign of a cliff. Tourists are currently allowed to enter only through the western gate.

There are four types of gardens in Sigiriya. The first two are small water garden and big water garden which built with ponds of different shapes. These gardens can be seen on both sides of the road that runs directly to the center of the rock. To be fair, there's a small water garden on the left side of the road, and on the other side there's a small water garden that's a hundred percent for every construction of that little water park. Other parks are the same. There are 100 percent similar gardens on both sides of the road. This garden technology called 'Chathur Baga' technology.
Then there are rock gardens. Naturally rolled big and small stones have been used artistically.

There's something like a stage when you pass the gardens and go to the main entrance to the palace. There is a opinion about that this is the place which King Ravana keep his aircraft (you know the first aircraft in the world made by King Ravana before 5000 years. which can control using mercury and solar power.)

At the top of the rock, you can see the ruins of palace, the rocks which use to build the top palace called Lunar Rocks. those rocks have a light in dark. there are deep ponds also at the top of the rock palace. Now I tell you the amazing water system. There are mainly two ways to meet the water needs of the entire acres of fortification. Water from the rain and water obtained by putting pipes in the nearby tank. The water from the rain has been used like this, the ponds in the palace at the top of the rock have been filtered and used by the royalty. After that, the ponds receive water from the bottom gardens underground through the center of the rock using pipelines. The water from the rain was used without wasting a drop. And the water that comes into the garden pit through the underground tubes has been converted into water flowers using water pressure. Even today, if you go to Sigiriya on a rainy day, you can see the water flowers that pierce the top of the water formed in the park due to water pressure.

This is really a little bit about Sigiriya castle. If you have questions, please ask
