Penpal Gate has changed a few times during the last two years.

Penpal Gate has changed a few times during the last two years.

it was better in 2020 and 2021

It was an advice from a colleague. He said to me: use penpal-gate to comunicate in Dutch and Italian with penpals and now - thanks to penpal-gate- I have learned Spanish too😃😃😃

I wanted to write letters and I do in Dutch, but discovered others have international pen pals, so I searched for them 😃

I Google searched for language exchange sites. I saw some references to Interpals. I tried that for 2 weeks but doesn't look like that site is very good. Saw a subreddit on Reddit for Interpals and the creator of this site posted on there about giving this one a try. Here I am. Hope I can meet some good people here to have conversations.

You are welcome sir.

I just searched for penpal sites, and of the ones I found this one seemed the best. I've used others in the past that were not good, but this one seems nice and friendly.

Especially Here are much more active than on any other penpal Sites. Maybe because its kind of classic/legacy social Media and penpal site.

The forum here is nice. It helps us get to know one another. The other site I tried just had me reaching out to people and not hearing back and getting who I think were all scammers writing to me. After a couple back and fourths, they ask for my phone number.

Could be teenagers are more active on there with each other? Just scammers of women 20 years younger than me writing to me. But I have a new account on there, so I'm probably drawing out the scammers. I'll try that site again in a few months and see if it's better with real connections.

I would just play a game with them.

Yes, a few. But they are more classical penpal websites. Much and many penpal sites havent survived the social media age.

Yes for example. When I remember how much people looked for Email contacts in the 2000s... almost all changed to Instant messaging

"To be honest, I’m not sure where to find a pen pal who excels at expressive writing these days. I simply have no interest in replying to those letters with hollow content. In this day and age, fragmented expression has become the norm, but I personally prefer structured expression."

I asked Copilot for PenPal sites because I was bored at work and PPG was the first site it recommended

Blame Apple and texting apps. I don't think my teenager has ever spoken on the cell phone. When I get her texts, it's all acronyms that I don't know. I think all her thoughts are 3 or 4 word sentences. She does well in school, so I guess this is the norm for society. I guess I'm just of the generation who walked uphill both ways to school in the snow in Southern California when I was a kid.
