I have a Penpal World account, but Penpal Gate is just so much better.

It's really weird, it's like people on other penpal sites don't actually want to chat with other people. I barely got any messages on Penpal World when I was still active and when I got some I was ghosted after what, a week? So either I'm very boring, or users don't want to chat with most people. I don't know which one is worse, to be honest...

At the end of the day we have the same people signing up so I think we do a better job at promoting active users and weeding out bad behavior. Many people sign up and don't even use their account once, so it isn't good to keep them in the way

5/6 years ago i registert on ppw too, first i got plenty of mssge, later (recently) only 1 and after that none. Yes, ppg is muchmuch better.

I’ve been on 4 websites in toral I think, PPG, SOTW, the one you talked about & InterPals. I’ll give a little review of all of them bc why not:

Penpal world: boring. I deleted after a couple of weeks.

InterPals: I think I’ve had a profile on there like 3 times, deleted after a few months everytime. Its possible to find friends, but there are SO many weirdos, really. Like 80% of the messages u get are spam. Either ppl asking for weird stuff like feet pics or ppl who make 0 effort (only wrote hi and then just dry stuff like hbu, wyd, i’m bored etc) I did find a few good penpals who I write real letters or chat on other socials with. But too much spam, 20 messages with only "hi" everyday is not what I want to spend my freetime on.

SOTW: I still have a profile there, its alright, they also have forums but I feel like no one uses those in the past 2-4 years or so. I found good friends tho so I don’t hate it.

PPG: Definetly the best. The forums are fun, still active, nearly no spam or weird people, you can make a long profile, add more photos (thats also a negative on SOTW, you can write like 2 sentences and thats the limit. And I think like 12 photos). The people here are more enthusiastic about chatting, asking questions etc. The badges, commenting on profiles are fun too. I don’t use the chatroom much but a few times it was really fun on there too!!

I dont have an account on the other sites just only here. 🙂 And i think here there are a lot of nice things and persons. And of course there is the FORUMMMM!! 😛 One thing i did NOTTT know is that we have of course a group that writes often on the forum. BUTTTT what i did not know is that a lot of people who dont write on the forum DO READDD the forum!!! I know bc they said it to me in messages if we had for example a super funny weird forum or other things that they liked. 🙂

my reviews about 4 penpal sites, Speaky, Interpals, PenPalWorld and PenPal-Gate:

Speaky: im allready active on this one for some days, trying to find a romanian/moldovan friend to help me practicing on my romanian. Ive made some good friends out there (inc one from turkey who wanted to come on ppg, but didnt receive the ferification email). I think there are pretty some spammers bots and fake profiles out there, but i dont think ive met them yet 🙂

Interpals: registert there 11 months ago, deleted my account, registert again 9 days ago. I got more and better friends on interpals then on speaky, it has a forum wich is not availeble :/, and it works almost the same as ppg.... only it has been set up in an other way.

PenPalWorld: i registert there 5/6 years ago (my father was and still is on it too). In the first place ive got a lot of messages on it, later on less, and after a while only 1 and after that none. You only have the possibillity of 3 messages per day, wich i regret, and all the updates the site makes makes the site worse. Much spammers, bots and probably the admin has a hole list of fake profiles.

PenPal-Gate: i just love this site, its the very best penpal site ive ever been on. With all the options and possibilitys it got, its a good site 🙂. Im not much active in the chatroom either, but once in a while i am 🙂
