Do you know any words in your language that has dissappeard ?

In persian thee are a lot of words like that, maybe its because right now there are many arabic words in persian , and in the past , like the time period that "ferdosi" (iranian poet) were alive , alll the words were persian . (Informations may be a bit wrong😜)

Okk ill start:

Ajban (آژبان) means police

But rn we say police ....

Argheh (ارقه) means naughty

But rn we use sheitoon / naghola (شیطون)

Amniyeh (امینیه) means Gendarmerie

But now we call it Gendarmerie (with persian accent😆)

Baazaar e Makareh means somewhere with manyyy people . (Also a song haha)

But now we use "shooloogh" (شلوغ) for it .

Ayel (عایل) means "in need"

But now we use niazmand (نیازمند) .

Ajel (آجل) means future ,

But now we use ayande

This one is intresting for me:

"Sarataan" was a month in iran calendar , now we call it "tir"

"Sarataan" means cancer now🤫

i have one word in Chinese. not really been disappeared, but it changing its real meaning.
囧(jiǒng)was the old form of 冏(jiǒng), it mean Bright. But 囧 looks like a funny face, which is associated with embarrassment. Now it usually means embarrassed, helpless, or defeated. It's almost the same as Orz. Some one made a meme as 囧rz

"Raja" means hope/wish

We use "omid" right now (also a boy name Xd)

"Atye" means future

But now we use "ayande" .

* We still use the first one in important letters *

I love the word "čistonosoplena" which directly translates into "clean nose diaper" xD Stopped being used for obvious reasons, and changed to "kapesník" which means "tissue" 🙂

"Bonshan" (بنشن) used to mean : like beans/nuts

But right now we use "ajil/hoboobat" for it😔

"Baladiyeh" (بلدیه) means : Municipality

But now we use "shahrdari"

"Boogh" meant : something for poor people , it was made of animals , and when you yelled in it (or something like that) , it made a horrible voice...

Its almost the same thing right now, but we mostly use it as a "horrible sound" or "horn" .

(That isnt dissappeared, but the word is came from that , i wrote it anyway)

Editado por Parsaa .

"Bi-rish" (بی ریش) used to mean: self-selling boy/characterless boy, (The One who does not have a beard)

Now its just dissappeared, we dont use it anymore

"Bahraam" (بهرام) used to mean mars 🌌

Now we say "merikh"

"Bahraam" is man's name right now

"Paa'chaal" meant something like shopping center in past .

Now we use "baazaar" or the same shopping mall .
