😬 Do you feel SAFE? 🙄

Hellooo everybody!!! 🙋‍♀️ I really wanted to make this forum some time but i did not have time to make it in a good way. So it is about safety. 😬

In my country there was a super big accident bc there is a small village and more than 30 men in the night with a LOTTTT of weapons went to a house and killed a person. But it was between criminals. It was all over the news but yesterday in the news our city was mentioned for something different (i prefer not saying the name of the city but is not super far from Amsterdam). And it said that there is a lot of violence like fireworks that is thrown in a house more than one time and also violence against persons in different ways. 🙅‍♀️ And i think in the news what they say we also talk abt it often like in school or with friends but it is not only our city and i think it is in a LOTTTT of different places and also in other countries i think. I mean more than before like some years ago???? 🙄🙄

I am really thankful for anybody who wants to answer these questions or just write what u think about the topic but for your city or country. 🥇🏆

But it was between criminals.

It doesn't matter, all people have equal value.

1️⃣ I feel safe but also that safety is declining. Still, whole Balkan area is incredibely safe (especially Croatia and Slovenia (sometimes not considered as Balkan country)) which is a bit surprising for me

2️⃣ in this context widespreaded abuse of drugs which is very accepted and culture of passivity when people 'don't want to interfere', they don't even report crimes.

3️⃣ yes

4️⃣ yes but people in my surrounding usually don't want to talk about or don't want to at least try to move the things from dead point. However, its maybe because violent crimes are rarity here

Thank u very much for writing @Korisnik!!!! 🙂 Sorryyy i can only write super short reply bc im super tired now but it is true what u wrote about criminals and that people have equal value. BUTTT i think is also different bc explains that violence happens a lot between them and if there is a LOTTT of violence against people who are not criminals then ANYTHING can maybe happen. And that way u can feel lot more unsafe. Sorryy im not sure if everybody understands what i mean but i can maybe write more clearly tomorrow when my head is not like soup!!!! 😛 😛

And im curious what u think abt with 3 that u said yes. And im happy that in Balkan is not like now in Netherlands some areas bc we do speak a LOTTT abt it like also if small things happen when people shout at u super agressive or shout racist things or other things that happened in the news and we even KNOW the places where it happened. But it is more with friends or when we are at school and we just talk about that. 🙄😬😬

3️⃣ Sometimes I bring it when I go on Mass or I pray for it alone, sometimes on a rosary. I also tend to think out of the box to try to make an improvement of the situation

1. When its not dark outside i do feel safe igg but when its dark outside not

2. Beign kidnapped or just sum that happens like last summer some one ik was killed next to a cafe its like 10mins away from me and he was still verry yougn.. or yh just the things that happend like 30 yrs ago from 'Detroux'

1. I mean its finland so i feel pretty safe but the safety has been on a decline lately.

2. I quess assault/battery. I mean my cousins boyfriend got send to the hospital resently cause he got beat up. And those crimes are sadly quite common in my area. I mean its almost a weekly thing at this point.

3. Yea i cant really do anything exsept pray.

4. Absolutely. One of my friends refuses to leave the house in the evening without a knife. And i often hear complains about the police on how they dont really do anything that works against the crime.

I do feel safer in my neighborhood in bartlesville Oklahoma Oklahoma

I feel like the number of dangers is increasing starting in 2022. We could have a drone emergency declared at any moment, which is somewhat uncomfortable.

What happened in Netherlands sounds quite bad, but not really surprising. It's also something I often have heard of in France, either in news, or directly in cities where I lived (the fireworks and gun shots).

Questions:

1️⃣ Do you feel safe or less safe in your city and country?

In my city, relatively, yes. There are not too many problems where I go; even though it's not as safe and nice as before. It depends where you go though, which city, which street... I felt worse in some parts of Rennes, Paris, Nîmes... than in some bad areas of Mexico or Ecuador, not that it's objectively more dangerous (I'm not sure to be honest), but because I can imagine why it would happen in those countries, whereas it can just be "free" in France.

2️⃣ What kind of things are you most worried abt being safe (like crime or nature or climate or other things)?

Crime mostly, but also economy. Both seem to be getting worse, and with economy having the potential to bring more crime, and crime to deteriorate further the economy .

3️⃣ Can you do something about it or not really?

It's not something you can do anything about individually. I've tried at my level to share concerns about EU, euro/eurozone, migration, increasing tensions, corruption, etc. Yet, you often get labeled as a conspirationist or a racist if you criticize an institution or migration in France.

How many people are still fond in EU despite euro making them poorer, French farmers comitting suicides because of their moves and external politics being a disaster?

4️⃣ Do you think also other persons you know think about the safety and that it is maybe a problem?

I believe both physical and financial safety are major concerns in France. Purchasing power is probably the first of all because it directly affects any of us in our daily life. Get poorer, and say goodbye to your vacations to the beach, a restaurant per week/months or even your heater or groceries expenses.
