I like @QueenOfRaccoons Miss Borboleta 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋

The original question:

The langauges are diffrent we may understand some words but its still a compleatly diffrent language. Its like swedish and danish and norwegian for example. They can understand eachother somewhat but not fully. And in my opinion the writing is harder to understand but speaking is pretty easy for undertanding estonian.

As for the argument weather finns are brainless:

Yea no it depends on who you talk with and where they are from. Im from the countryside so i am more traditional and religious than a person from Helsinki. Or any other city. City people are more welcoming to foreingers cause they are kinda forced to be and they are raised in a more welcoming but still tighter environment. But scientificly we have one off the highest iq scores.

And rigth none off you know finland as a whole after knowing two people. Thats just utterly foolish. But i can say i know Finland quite well. Cause im 100% finnish blood and have relatives from most regions.

Yes we are distand we belive personal space is importnat and we dont waste our time trying to be fake nice as i always see on the internet and movies and all that. We say things as they are. Changing the way you say it dosent change facts. So why bother.

And yes finland has changed and i dont really like that. Its gotten more more diverse for example. Its gone so far i avoid specific citys and places. And another thing is internet. Internet changes finlands identity many young people dont even speak proper finnish anymore despite being native finns. I just find that sad. And young people are also stupid they dont appriciate what they have and how lucky they are to be born in finland. As i am writing this i suddenly feel like a old grandma.

But i belive the original question wasnt if we are stupid here so lets keep the conversation in topic and try to act like mature adults.

Thank you!

I always thought it might be something like US English and British English. Now I know there are very distinct differences. Remember, to my ears and eyes, it sounds very similar.

As to the intelligence of Finns. Finland tops the world in literacy rates, so that must mean something.

It wasn't that I was particularly upset about Finns being distant or aloof. I actually kind of liked it. No pointless civility when it wasn't necessary. It DID make breaking the ice, as we say, difficult. Americans are all about vibes and chemistry. It's annoying, but when you're born and raised in an environment, it rubs off on you. Outgoing and extroverted are the order here. Reserved tends to be perceived as standoffish. Like when I was at a bar in Helsinki once. I met a really cool girl and things seemed to be going well, but i couldn't really tell if she was interested or not and so, I defaulted to the "not."

That said. Thank you for answering this burning question 🙂

As far as I know the finnish government try to reduce the times that pupils and people look on displays.

And for foreigners I think its hard to come around with the finnish style of communication but personally I think its better than e.g. in Brazil, where dates are just speeches not to disappoint the opponent or spanish like speaking all the time.

For introverts, Finland is a good address

Yea its not like british and american english. I think theyr words have more vocals and more consonant groups cause with time it has changed. And they got diffrent letters aswell that wr dont have for example Õ that is impossible to say. What also makes estonian hard for me to say is the fact that the vocals in words dont follow the same rulers as for us. They just mix it up.

And yea we are intoroverts paradise i havent said a full sentance in two days. And also i love that silence is engouraged and its not akward but comfy.

@QueenOfRaccoonsons Tän tarinan mä haluun kuulla. Mitä rikoksia se on tehy?

Ainakin herra Tier on puhunut pahaa musta ja meidän maasta. Mene sanomaan sille että jättää mut rauhaan

Hah?? Torakka agreed most of the points I mentioned about Finland - what is your problem??

I meant the other one who attacked me, Torakka. With your all is well and friendlly.

In the past I have always put them in the same basket with Scandinavians (I'm reffering to language). Recently I've realised they have a bit different mentality. Some things which are normalised there are completely unnaceptable for me. On the other hand I got an opinion that Kimi Raikkonen and Torakka are hilarious 😄.

Once in the bus I was standing next to the Finnish tourists and I couldn't tell were they Hungarians or Finns. Then I saw that at the suitcase zipper is written 'FINNI'. I find it strange that I can't differentiate spoken language while I can clearly differentiate Finnish and Hungarian in the written form. Finnish and Estonian look the same for me.

Hungarian and finnish are relatives in their languages.

Maybe like German and Austrian or Luxembourg

Indo European based, I believe. @Torakka and @QueenOfRaccoons... another one..

What makes the Laplanders so distinct from other Finns? Is it simply their traditional lifestyle? I always thought they super interesting.

And also... Who do you think was responsible for the Lake Bodom murders?

Looots of questions well i should start answering so i can go to sleep today.

Finland isnt part off scandinavia. We are too difrent from all off the others.

And yea i quess we are kinda wierd.

With the number off people telling me i am hilarious i should start a career as a comedian. But thank you.

Hungarian has had more influence from nearby nations considering its in the middle of europe and finland and estonia are kinda isolated so we didnt have that much foreing influence and the influence was diffrent from hungary. I personally dont see anything in common with hungarian and finnish but i also havent seen hungarian that much so i could be sure. (And the only interaction i have had with a hungarian ended with me having a three week chat ban on roblo😆

And yea hungarian letters are wierd man they got 44 letters while finland has 29 and estonia has 32.

And yea all the other europen languages are indo-europen ecpect finnish, estonian and hungarian. Those three are uralic languages. Also if you ever see someone call the finns asians thats the reason. We came from asia.

I mean the awerage finn isnt that diffrent there but what i think you ment are sámi people. Theyr indigenous people in the north. The only recogniced indigenous people in europe i belive. They have theyr own languages and many practice theyr own life style. They got theyr own justice system and all. But fun fact if i remeber correctly Lappi=lapland is a slur for them. So id say we treat them pretty well. (:

But they speak three languages in finland inarinsaame, koltansaame and pohjoissaame. And no i dont speak any off them. But sámi people are the ones in those blue colourfull clothes.

As for the Bodom murders. None off it makes sence man. The killer had ventange for them thats for sure. Especially to Irmeli Björklund given the state she was left in. But if all off theyr state was that bad how im earth did Nils Gustafsson survive it all.

So my theory is that the killer sure had some personal connection to them all or something happened with all off them there that made some stranger hate them to this ectent. So if i had to say someone i would say Esko Aatos Lonka. He knew two off the victams. And his mother identified the bloody pillow. But seriosly no clue who it was. One off Finlands biggest mysteries like Kyllikki Saari case. But i love conspirisies.

We share a tiny number of words (and some wars 🤣) with them, but when we hear each other speaking, we have no clue what the other side is talking about.
