Merci @Raay

I got the bee one correct afterwards I looked it up and seems that β€œfalse” would be the right answer.

What would be another example?

To some extent, maybe birds ?

Because first we eat their eggs, and secondly some of them do help fruit plants to germ and grow just like bees.

But the question specifically says insects

But the question specifically says insects

And what if the insects are the food? πŸ˜› Because in many countries they eat insect snacks but not me so before you think i eat insects because i dont want that like red meat. But that is maybe not what they mean with the questions so i just write it as a joke! πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

What would be another example?

Someone smarter than me on Quora says:

β€œHoneypot ants live in Australia. Some of the ants are gorged on nectar by their sistren until their abdomens bloat and they hang upside down from their burrows and act as food sources for drought periods. People have been digging these up for tens of thousands of years and consuming them.

Lerp or manna is a sugary exudation secreted by sap sucking leaf insects. This can be licked from the leaves directly or used to sweeten water by swishing bunches through it.

Cochineal beetle is used to make dark pink food colouring. Other beetles are used to make shellac (not for food).

Locusts have been harvested directly as highly nutritious protein for tens of thousands of years across most of the world. Same with large moths.

Witchetty grubs are the wood eating larvae of very large borer beetles, which are highly nutritious and are used as food.

Green ants can be used to flavour alcoholic beverages such as gin.”

Not all apply as some of these are consumed themselves, not a product made by them.

I think this is the key distinction, the question states "produced". I guess the 1 or 2 examples that may exist are far fetched enough that I feel they could be dismissed, but technically speaking maybe the answer shouldn't strictly be "True". The game records how many points someone gets but not specifically who answered what so I can't retroactively give this one for free πŸ˜›

Can I ask @Remus and @Etienne: would you EAT insects? πŸ™‚

I would have thought that honeydew was edible and consumed by some people

But the question specifically says insects

Oh, my bad.

In all good faith though, I think some other insects participate too in the germs of some fruits. But since we’re talking about producing food and not contributing to it, I think nothing is wrong with the initial answer.

depends what and how crispy they are, potentially yeah.
