Assamese is written with the same script as Bengali... Here is the Bengali version of your Assamese line - তুমি আমার রাতের তারা, অন্ধকারে জ্বলজ্বল করো।

Yeah I agree, Assamese is Written in the same script as Bengali but there are differences in words and letters, for example: Bengali writes their "ra" sounding letter like "র", while we use ৰ (with a distinct dot inside the loop/curve). Another difference is that: we have the letter ৱ (a separate character with a middle bar/loop used for 'w' or 'v' sounds). While, bengali just uses the letter ব (the letter 'ba' is typically used to represent both 'b' and 'w/v' sounds depending on the word, without a separate dedicated 'ৱ' letter in standard modern use).

Another difference is that While the rest of the vowels and consonants look and function the same way, Assamese retained these two specific letter forms that were phased out or merged in standard Bengali printing presses during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Even though the written characters are 99% the same, the actual spoken phonetics, intonation, and stress patterns of the Assamese and Bengali languages differ significantly.

We also have different words such as:

We call fire "জুই" (zui) while the Bengali people call it "আগুন" (aagun).

There are alot of differences in pronounciation as well, it will take a while for me to list them all
