As you already have 'Stairway to heaven' on the list, another one to add is 'Since I've been loving you'. This classic is one of Led Zeppelin's most underrated tracks. Tornado of souls is a good one, but 'Painkiller' of Judas Priest is one big solo from beginning to end. The pinch harmonics count is similar to my annual caffeine intake and the speed of both solo's (and every other second of the song) is crazy. Another painful shredding song to play is 'A love unreal' by Black Label Society. No whammy tricks, but just twice as fast as Max Verstappen at Zandvoort. However, the best solo's according to my sonic palate can be found in blues and blues rock classics. 'Still got the blues' by Gary Moore and 'Midnight blues' by Snowy White are difficult to beat in terms of dynamics and feeling.
Do any of you also actually play? If so, may I ask which main gear do you use for tone chasing purposes?
