Listen to and comment on the song posted by the last person above Films, music, TV

I hope that some folks will be interested in doing this. If not the thread will die with just this one post. Please post a YouTube link to a song and also include the name of the song and the name of the artist because some YouTube links don't work in other countries but can often find the song in one's own country.

I'm going to have someone else post the first song to listen to just to see if others are interested.

this is an amazing idea!

so, the song I'm going to recommend is 'Enjoy Enjaami' by Dhee feat Arivu. the song is in Tamil language but there are also English subtitles 🙂

About the song: It's an Indian song about the ancestors and tribal people. the visuals are really amazing, so it's great to watch.

I hope you like it! do comment down your views about it ;D

Okay so, i've never been into any culture of bengal peninsula and it's not my taste of music but i was watching and listening to this song with fascination because i love idea of showing local culture by innovative and modern ideas and your recommendation was perfect example of that. I think it's great song to start discovering india.

And my recommendation is indie song by polish artist Dawid Podsiadło. It doesn't have subtitles but don't worry. It's really hard to understand the meanings of his songs so if you are curious i will paste translation of this song somewhere below. As the second link i'm putting the same song but played backwards because idk if it's easter egg or it was planned but in reverse he sings "lasy, bieszczady mają moc" what means "forests, bieszczady (place with beatiful nature in poland in the border with ukraine) have power" so it seems its song with ecological meaning. His other song has similar trick 😉

What nice and funny sounds! Cool polnish songs!

I will remain by beautiful nature, a old classic german song about the river Rhine/ Rhein

The songs describes a pair of lovers at the river Rhein with wine during a night with full moon...🙂

I'm so glad that some people are interested in doing this. Please also feel free to listen to and comment on everything that was posted before you post your song. If you do comment on more than one song please tag the author to make sure your comments are associated with their song.

@Mohitha - Wow, I absolutely loved that song. It is very different from anything I currently listen to but I absolutely loved it. The female vocals are wonderful, the male vocals are very good as well and the drumming and rhythms were very interesting. The video itself is very stunning and gorgeous. I may look for more music from Dhee to see what else I might like.

@Biskup - That was a really fun upbeat poppy song with a fun video as well. It reminds me of another artist I listen to but I'm not sure which one. I'll take another listen to see if I can determine who it makes me think of. I liked the song a lot. Thank you for posting it.

@Piwipete - That was a fun old style song that reminds me of songs from the 1920's here in the US. It also isn't my style, but I did enjoy it.

The song I'm posting is "The Only Thing That's Real" by a group called Sister 7.

I appreciate the idea, it will make people listen to at least the previous song of the thread.

On topic now, I was going to say that it's not really the kind of songs I enjoy to listen, but listening to it a bit more, it reminds me of what we used to listen in the 90's and early 2000's and it was somewhat pleasant to have this feeling. I might listen to it again (it's already a big compliment in my mouth).

Since people seem to be more into sending songs from their own place, I'll do the same. It's called Gwerz Kêr-Ys and it's from Yann-Fañch Kemener (voice) Didier Squiban (piano).
Gwerz is a traditionnal genre from Brittany (Bretagne in French, Breizh in Breton) that is counting a story, often sad, that is more like a Lament. This one is about the legendary city of Ys that as been swallowed by the ocean.

I'm glad you both liked it! 😃

By the way after your song has been listened you can listen to the latest song posted and then post another song after you comment on the one you've just heard.

@Lianshen - I love the piano in this but I'm not that thrilled by the vocals. I can tell they are extremely good from a technical stand point but I'm just not a fan of them. I generally don't like a lot of vibrato in vocals with a few exceptions.

What a fun idea! @PolyguySJ, I think the vocals were really interesting, for a woman’s voice, not what I’d expected. There was something in the instrumental arrangement though, that made it hard for me to listen through the whole song. Not my usual genre, but very interesting nonetheless!

I am sharing this song by German band AnnenMayKantereit, it’s called Pocahontas. Definitely not representative of German music, but I don’t listen to that a lot, so here you go: https://youtu.be/DraA3PUuoQc

@minniec - I loved the flow of the song and the way each instrument was introduced separately over time. The singer has a nice emotional delivery. It's a somewhat sparse song but still has a rather full feeling. I also loved the end of the song that seemed to end several times before it actually did end.

My next song is from an artist from Sweden who lives and works in Los Angeles. The song is It Makes Sense and the artist is Emma Ejwertz

I'd love to keep this thread alive, but if there isn't any interest after this post I'll just drop it.

The purpose of the thread is one where people get listen to something someone else has shared, comment on the song and then post one of they'd like to be listened to and commented on. It's meant to be posted in multiple times by people interested in hearing music they haven't been exposed to before or to comment on music they have heard before. I follow another thread like this in a different forum and enjoy it there. However since the membership of this forum is a different demographic I'd enjoy hearing what you people want to share.
