No problem, our Croatian friend only shared that flag to provoke a Turk anyway, it doesn't matter. I wish he'd actually address my arguments after throwing around those hollow occupation claims.

Dear friend, this is a game of flags, not a game of nationalisms. The situation in Cyprus is very complex. Armenians were massacred by the Turks: it was a genocide. As for Italians and Croats, or Italians and Slovenes... today these peoples live in peace. But in the past, there were Slavic populations massacred by Italians and Italian populations massacred by Slavs. Today, we live in peace ❤️

You assumed that I support or negate genocides which Greek Cypriots commit? Lol... I was thinking about why Turks don't retreat now. As far as I know, Greek nationalism fell apart shortly after appearing and nowadays Cypriots wants to be completely independent. Why Turkey doesn't retreat army now when situation is changed? Please try to think objectively.

At least you don't negate Armenian genocide. Respect for that part.

Hahahahha, a referendum was already held for the unification of Cyprus and the Southern side rejected it. Update yourself a bit. Plus, Turkey has already stepped back from Northern Cyprus; they have their own government, flag, and constitution. If the South had wanted it too, the unification would have happened already and 22 years would have passed by now.

As for the Armenian issue, of course I don't deny that it happened, but it wasn't a genocide and that many people didn't die. Yes, there was a loss of human lives, and the reason for this was that during the war, Russia and the British Kingdom hyped up Armenian nationalists and gangs to revolt so they could establish their own state. As a result, many Turkish villages in the east were raided—people were massacred, raped, and everyone was killed regardless of whether they were women or children. They even locked some people in mosques and burned them down. Consequently, Enver Pasha implemented the relocation law and sent them away. Looking at the big picture, both sides were at fault; we could have solved the problem in a more humane way, and they could have chosen not to attack the villages. And they started it, by the way. I can even show you documents from British, French, and Russian archives if you want.

My goal was never to use the historical events between those two countries against you; I just used them as an example because Italy and Croatia are close to each other and separated by a sea. My intention was purely geographic. The situation in Cyprus isn't complex: Greek nationalists massacred Turks, Turkey brought this issue to the UN, the UN ignored it, Turkey intervened, and annexed enough territory for Turkish Cypriots to live safely. Then, Turkish Cypriots established their own constitution and government, and Turkey stepped back. In the 2004 referendum that followed, the Turks accepted the unification, but the Southern side rejected it. As for the Armenian issue, I already explained it in my previous message; it wasn't a genocide and that many people didn't die, but I do acknowledge that lives were lost overall.

Lasne.

Don't worry, I've updated myself. Greek Cypriots refused that particular plan because of a few reasons, the biggest one seems to be that Turkish army would still be present in that case, so they are against Kofi Annan's plan. That doesn't mean they are against unification. You don't negate Armenian genocide but 'it wasn't a genocide because many people didn't die'. So, there is an acceptable number of deaths 😂😂. Classic minorisation and twisting of historical events. Anyway, I am going to follow @Pennarossa2024's advice and stop talking about politics on the flag forum. If you want to live in your fairy tales, then go on. I wish you all the best

Nice attempt to spin it, but historical facts aren't 'fairy tales.'

First, Greek Cypriots rejected the 2004 Annan Plan not just because of the army, but because they refused to share equal political power with Turkish Cypriots. They wanted total dominance, and when they didn't get it, they voted 'NO' (75.83%). Meanwhile, Turkish Cypriots voted 'YES' (64.91%) for peace. The UN and the EU explicitly stated that the Greek side wasted a historic chance for unification. That is a documented fact.

Second, nobody is 'minorizing' anything. I clearly acknowledged the tragedy of 1915, but calling a wartime relocation triggered by armed rebellion and the massacre of Turkish villages a 'genocide' is a legal and historical distortion. You ignored my offer to show British and Russian archive documents because deep down, you know actual historical evidence contradicts your political narrative.

You ran out of arguments, got caught unprepared on basic history, and now you are hiding behind forum rules to make a quick exit. Enjoy your echo chamber!

Actually, you are the one who wrongly assume that the whole word celebrates genocide against Turks in Cyprus and you keep pushing fake Turkish agenda. You aren't aware that you have tunnel vision. But that's your problem, not mine.

To conclude, I'm giving you a like so you can feel accomplished. Enjoy in your fairy tales and in 'we vs them' mentality. You are probably going to answer something to fulfill your urge to teach us 'the truth', but I really don't care at all. Neither anybody else does. Have a nice Sunday 😊.

You keep using buzzwords like 'fake agenda' or 'tunnel vision' because you don't have a single historical document, statistic, or fact to back up your claims.

Notice how you completely avoided answering the 2004 referendum percentages (%75.83 NO from the Greek side)? Notice how you completely ran away from my offer to show British, French, and Russian archive documents regarding 1915? You ignored them because facts destroy your comfortable bias. When faced with official UN data and historical records, your only defense is to cry 'propaganda' and make personal attacks.

If pointing out documented UN referendums and offering official wartime archives is 'tunnel vision,' then your complete evasion of evidence must be total blindness. Keep your pity 'like'; you clearly need it more than I do to comfort yourself after getting completely dismantled on basic history.

You didn't care so much that you had to write another paragraph just to announce you're running away again. Have a nice Sunday in your bubble.
