Hello! I am a 14-year-old Japanese student in my second year of junior high school. I live in Aomori, Japan.
Aomori is famous for delicious apples and a big summer festival called the 'Nebuta Festival'.
In my free time, I love playing video games and watching anime.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Hello Asahi!

I haven't heard about Nebuta Festival before, Can you tell me detail about that?

I also like game and anime... I play sports.

The Aomori Nebuta Festival is a massive summer festival held in northern Japan every August.
The main attraction features gigantic, brightly lit paper floats shaped after mythical warriors and gods.
Thousands of dancers called "Haneto" fill the streets, dancing energetically to the sound of traditional drums and flutes.
It is also considered one of Japan's most famous festivals.

That's really amazing!

How's life in Japan?

How's life in Japan?

The crime rate isn't bad, so I can live here with a sense of security.
However, even though Aomori has a population of 270,000, it's known as the city with the heaviest snowfall among cities with populations of 100,000 or more, so I really hate winter here.

it means you don't like snow, right?

Snow is heavy, there's a lot of it, and it gets in the way.

I can understand that!

What do you study in school?

In history class at school, we're currently studying the 1950s,
and in math, we're learning about square roots.

As far as history goes, I do hold a Level 3 World History certification (equivalent to three years of high school),
but I’m completely lost when it comes to math.
I’ve finally managed to understand the material from about two classes ago.

Nice.

This is what winter in Aomori is like.

Wowwwww it's wayyy too heavyyyy 😭😭 How do you even travelll???

People in Aomori tend to avoid going out much in the winter, except to commute to work or buy groceries. That’s because it’s difficult not only to drive but even to walk.
