I'll go first: September 18th Incident.
The September 18 Incident, also known as the Fengtian Incident or the Liutiaohu Incident. It was an event on September 18, 1931, when the Kwantung Army stationed in Northeast China launched a surprise attack on Shenyang and occupied Northeast China by force. The September 18 Incident was a deliberate war of aggression against China created and launched by Japan. It marked the beginning of Japanese imperialism's attempt to conquer China by force and the beginning of China's resistance against Japan. It marked the beginning of China's partial resistance against Japan and opened the curtain on the Eastern Theater of World War II. After the September 18th Incident, the Chinese people's local war of resistance also marked the starting point of the world's anti fascist war.On the night of September 18, 1931, the Japanese Kwantung Army stationed in Northeast China, according to a carefully planned conspiracy, bombed the South Manchuria Railway tracks built by Japan near Liutiaohu in Shenyang by the railway "garrison team", and blamed the Chinese army. The Japanese army used this as an excuse to shell the North Camp of the Northeast Army, creating the shocking "September 18 Incident" that shocked China and the world. The next day, the Japanese army invaded Shenyang and subsequently occupied the three northeastern provinces. In February 1932, the entire Northeast region fell. Nanjing Massacre
On December 13, 1937, after occupying Nanjing, the Japanese army openly violated international conventions by massacring unarmed civilians and Chinese soldiers who laid down their weapons. One third of the buildings in Nanjing were destroyed, and nearly 20000 cases of rape and gang rape occurred in the city. A large amount of public and private property was looted, and the total number of victims reached over 300000 according to the post-war Nanjing Military Tribunal for the Trial of War Criminals. The ancient capital Nanjing suffered an unprecedented disaster.After the Nanjing Massacre, both Chinese and foreign media such as The New York Times, Life magazine, The Times, Pravda of the Soviet Union, China's Central Daily News, and Xinhua Daily all reported extensively on the atrocities committed by the Japanese army in Nanjing. Chinese and foreign individuals who stayed in Nanjing, as well as European and American diplomats who gradually returned to Nanjing, recorded or secretly filmed the atrocities committed by the Japanese army in Nanjing. The Nanjing military and civilians who witnessed or witnessed the atrocities committed by the Japanese army left behind a large number of testimonies. The Japanese officers and soldiers who participated in the Nanjing Massacre also left relevant records.After the war, both the Far East International Military Tribunal and the Nanjing Military Tribunal for the Trial of War Criminals tried and judged the atrocities committed by the Japanese army in Nanjing, and made legal conclusions.
