The Italian Minister of Culture said that Christopher Columbus "did not hypothesize about discovering a new continent, but wanted to reach the Indies by circumnavigating the earth on the basis of Galileo Galilei's theories".

Galileo lived until 1642, so it is impossible that Columbus based his navigation on the theories of Galileo Galilei. Should the minister resign?

the vikings discover amerika "new world" 400/500 years earlier then columbus. and later Columbus did discover the new world again. And that Columbus based his navigation on galileo is impossible...
So, That the minister should be resign is maybe too far-fetched. But maybe he should do his homework in history before he say things like this 😃 It's seems okay for me that he can stay as a minister. Even it's maybe a blunder .... everyone can say something stupid 😃
