The little turtle was alone in the wide, white sand of the Carribean beach under a clean blue sky.
Sara yelled and Michael saw the turtle and they decided to help the animal reach the waters of the sea to prevent her from running into some predator
Sara and Michael took little mausi back home. Unfortunately, their mom thought it was dirty and ugly and didn’t like it
Their mom, Vick, is a woman with short frizzy and curly hair, brown eyes covered by glasses and aquiline nose, her children definitely look like their father. She's pretty strict and scolded Michael and Sara punishing them to go to sleep without having dinner "... and don't forget to have your shower before to go to bed!!". The two poor guys, sadly, obeyed thinking why their mother had this bad reaction while she kept to grumble downstairs
Vick, fastly, opened her eyes and close to her there was the ghost of the island who everything see and everything hear, she screamed but the ghost stole her voice saying with a deep and glacial tone: " Your voice will back when you behave well, at least, you will be mute forever!"
Vick remembers all the times that her husband has spent time with their children, bonding and making memories together, of course she feels a bit jealous because they look like him, an interracial marriage between two sweethearts who once loved each other. But Vick also remembers how she took Sarah's mistake personally, when she took offense for her remark on her style as a racist one, influenced by her father and others in the village.
Vick laughed, but she still hadn't realized her bad behavior towards her children. Michael and Sara were still disappointed by the umpteenth and undeserved punishment of their mother, therefore, tired, they turned to their father, Christof, a very successful man, kind, smiling, with blue eyes and straight and well-kept blond hair, his, it had been a marriage forced by the deceit of Vick's family and the only thing that kept him strong were precisely his children for whom he doted a lot, he loved them above all things. That morning he was in his office examining various cases, when at one point he heard a knock on the door, he went to open it and it was his beloved children, Sara was crying and could not complete a sentence while Michael was angry so he told everything to his father , unaware of what had happened the night before. “Dad, we are exhausted, could you talk to mom? Why does she hate us so much?” Michael said, Christof hugged them tightly and with his gaze peering into space: "Don't worry, I'll talk to your mother, you just take care of going on a fun outing today, here's the money to buy you food, the water and everything you need my guys, I love you!” heartened, the two set off towards a new adventure
after encountering their father, Michael and Sara embark on a hike in the mountains, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the fresh air.
As they were hiking, sara saw a wooden house. They were really tired and hungry, so they decided to take a look. ‘Hello? Anyone here?’ said sara. The house was dark and dirty .There were some shelves and some snacks on it. ‘Hi’ an old-man-voice appeared, hoarsely and deeply. He was hiding behind a shelf and crying.
It was Thom, the village handyman. Thom was a humble and honest old man, always ready to help others and Michael and Sara were amazed to see him cry. Then Sara: “Hi Thom, we didn't know you lived here, sorry we entered without knocking. What happened to you? Why are you crying?" the old man covered his face answering with a forced and evidently not spontaneous laugh: “Nothing, little girl, I wasn't crying, rather, are you the children of Christof and Vick? Say hello to them for me, especially your father, he's so kind!" listening to this last sentence, Michael remembered the night before, when their mother had forced them to fast only because they helped Mausi the previous afternoon. Thoughtfully, he replied, “Thom, would you like to come to our house for dinner?” but Thom, as if he was almost afraid of something, answered with a polite no and his legs started shaking, as if he was about to pass out, he sat down smiling fake at the two guys. “Can I ask you a favor? Could you warn your father to come and find me? But be careful not to be heard by Vick and especially your grandparents, in the meantime keep these candies and have a nice day and be careful not to go too far into the forest, get out and walk around it, there is that wonderful stream” Michael and Sara hugged him in thanks and left the house, walking towards the stream.
Thom sat back down in contemplation and thought to himself, There's more yet to come... Please finish my story for me two children and stay safe on this island as he has with his story all these years.
A little stray cat with a red flur entered slowly and silently Thoms living room and watched him with great green eyes.Herr Grünauge!!
the little cat perched on Thom’s lap as he contemplated
Thom lovingly stroked this red cat who brought some comfort to him on most lonely occasions when human company was scarce. Being an older man of his age, has proven that friends and family diminish, and some would say that his better years are behind him. It is as if the cat has got agitated with Thom when he starts to stir around and chew on his button for entertainment, as Thom's hand loses focus on the present. With a tug, Mister Greeneyes gives Thom his most mischievous side as suddenly Thom comes back to who has just about removed his button from his coat. Thom scolds the red cat who knows how to steal his best attention but then Mister Greeneyes felt he's had enough and gives the button one last tug and it goes falling to the floor, thumping a few hard times into the present and past when suddenly, Thom is brought back to a bad memory and gets down on his knees and begins to cry.
Mister Greeneyes looks back at Thom with a bewildered look, what has he done so bad that he's know made Thom like this? "Don't worry, Mister Greeneye, it's just a material thing."
Thom reaches out with his right hand to pick up the button but is met with a sudden rush of guilt as if his mother is expecting him back home for the day's earnings from town. Every little bit counted, and this was his last button for his customer. Money was scarce and so wasting was strictly forbidden. When he'd lose a button, he'd lose out on another shine on his day.
