For those who have experienced the transition to the year 2000...

As the new year 2022 is coming soon, I'm enthusiastic to start a new year, that might be better than the previous one... I always have sensations when midnight arrives !!! But I wonder how people who were born before 2000 felt when the new 2000 millenial arrived. As I wasn't born before 2000, I wonder if some of you celebrated the new year 2000
How did you feel yourself ??

I don't recall celebrating it much differently than other NYE's. That might have been because our sons were teenagers at the time so we were home with them rather than out anywhere special to celebrate.

There was a note of trepidation as we waited to see if any of the predicted Y2K computer issues came up. We were relatively sure things would be fine because I worked for a major database company as a software engineer so I was well aware of the preparations we had made in our software and was very certain most other companies would have addressed the issues as well.

I think I was far more welcoming of 2021 due to various reasons (most of which are obvious) than I was for 2000. 2021 hasn't been as good as I'd hoped it would be but it beat the heck out of 2020 for me.

I was 6 and half at the time. I was with my father's familly. I remember a firework.
