State's Anything and everything

How many state's does your country have? In Norway there are 11 state's/Counties. I live in Rogaland, which is in the south-west of Norway.

Here in the United States of America we have 50 states but we also have several territories (Puerto Rico for one) and the District of Columbia where our nation's capital is located.

In Germany we have 16 countries!

Here in Australia there are six states and two internal territories with a handful of small island territories in the Indian and Pacific Oceans.

Since 2016 there are 13 regions in France
Since 2021, there is 100 departments, because the two departments of alsace unified.
We also have territories on the Indian, and Pacific ocean, and on the caribbean sea.
