The environment is pretty bad now, with natural disasters everywhere more frequently and burning of forests. This is often mentioned in the News but I think this isn’t talked about frequently during daily conversations… So what’s your point of view? Do you think it is something that actions must be taken or something that is minimal? And opinions on what can be done to save the environment.. i am curious about opinions regarding animal cruelty too haha where do you stand between food and pet animals? (I am a vegetarian so…) Don’t mind people disagreeing 🙂

Simple,
There is too much damage to the environment.
It is catalyzed by shit government policies.
Our individual sacrifices won't change much unless some unified changes are brought by.
Anti-environmentalists like Trump are shot between the eyes
As for Animal cruelty, we can't really know unless we find a way to know their feelings.
The environment is in a terrible state but it's still not too late to start acting rationally. There ar epeople who negate that despite the facts which are stronger in the favour of global warming and ecology pollution. I see it with my own eyes in the Adriatic sea; the sea is more often than usual dirty and marine life is dissapearing. The biggest problem aren't China and USA, it's when people think that they can't change anything with their own actions. If everybody start with the small things to help the environment such as using motor vehicles less, walking and cycling more, saving electric energy by rationalising their schedule, diversifying the rubbish, stop throwing the rubbish on the street, etc that would be a good start. Less lazyness, more action and resposnibility. Singapore, Suriname and Bhutan have the best environmental laws but their penalties are still too weak.
Killing animals for food is OK as long as you kill them as fast and as painless as possible and if you eat all edible parts of the animals. Having a normal pet such as cat or dog is OK because they are domesticated, especially dogs. Having almost all other animals as pets is a torture. I would like to see the introduction of psychological and sanitary estimations for people and their homes if they plan to buy a pet. If somebody tortures animals, then he should be detained and sent to the psychiatrist for estimation of his mental state and then giving him the punishment proportional to his awareness level. Also various programs for help
Given PPG's venerable age - almost two decades - and some thoughtful
participants of all ages, it is striking, at best, that a forum on the
environment was apparently set up (by whom?) only days ago. Our
well-being depends on our planet's and I very much hope that others will
join soon.

Well if we would already stop with this silly nonsense of whenether to drink with those plastic... -how do you call them in English? - or not, would already be a big improvement. Stop producing electric cars, and keep on going with diesel and gasoline cars. Stop with all those unneccesary laws. Make sure that farmers are able to farm as much as they want, instead of making even more and more things impossible for them, in so far that more and more farmers commit suicide because they can't keep there head up anymore, as one of the reasons is the bank trying to take everything away from them (and they work it out to take everything away from them, even their lives). And there's probably much much more to save the world, nature, people, animals etc.

I must admit its a problem the last few winters have been way too warm.
Yea something should be done but the problem is that only thing you can do is not be wastefull and behave properly. You really cant do anything else. And globally you are 1 person from 8 billion even if you quit everything nothing would change. So you must not sacfise everything for the sake of environment. Just do something that dosnet cause you harm. However locally you can do a lot more to make sure the area is clean like pick trash and all that.
Animals can be eaten and killed but just make it painless and dont let it suffer. I for example am a hunter and the main things there are is to shoot properly to kill it, respect the animal and eat whatever you can. Sure you cant eat like wolfs or crows but you can eat most parts of a deer even tougth i think some dont taste that good.
And pets are fine when you take care of it but not all animals are ment to be pets like birds or tropical stuff. I also think its animal torture to keep a pet alive when its life starts to get too difficult that it cant live properly anymore then the only acseptable thing you can do it let it out of its misery. And animal torture is unjustiable if you cant take care of a pet you clearly arent ment to own one.

When I was a small child, I used to be able to see the snowy peaks in the distance all year round, but even though the peaks are still there, they just aren't the same anymore as there is no snow for most of the year...
As mentioning peaks, today, Everest is full of trash that it has been called the “world’s highest garbage dump.” Anyone visiting Mount Everest has to pay a $4,000 deposit, and the money is refunded if the person returns with eight kilograms (18 pounds) of garbage—the average amount that a single person produces during the climb. But it doesn't help at all, climate change is causing snow and ice to melt, exposing even more garbage that has been covered for decades. We are talking of the forehead in the sky, imagine the rest.

Yea when i was little we would have like 70cm of snow sometimes but last year we barely got 30cm

I hadn't heard about what you said about the Everest and the deposit for climbers, and it is very interesting!

Unfortunately, in some countries, governments’ selfish, thoughtless decisions add to environmental problems. It is so sad to see them cutting down trees and destroying farmland to fulfill their desire to earn more and more in the name of so-called “modern life.”

Actually, the climbers also contributed to 4600+ liters of urine, which caused the melting of several tones of ice. Development should not happen at the direct cost of the environment.
