Ratings, Appearance and Self Worth

It's so clear that in 2026 everything is hyper visual and attractive and sexual and we have become obsessed with assigning numbers to someone's attractiveness (/10). Now while this can be fun, it is also quite damaging for everyone's self image as it focuses only on your appearance and tries to turn you into a number or statistic. A beautiful face with no personality is just a waste of oxygen in my opinion . Instead of focusing on the outward appearance we should be focusing on personality. Aging is inevitable and we will all be old one day, no matter how advanced medicine and plastic surgery gets. One thing that doesn't age and shines bright is a great personality ( something increasingly rare these days lmao) that makes an average person the most attractive and magnetic person in the room. Having a good aura is always attractive and having good energy is what is important at the end of the day. Tell me your thoughts below. Do you believe in giving a number to someone or is it reductive ?

Looking at your profile pictures, it seems to me like you're here to show off your body. Or am I wrong?

I don't like judging people based on their appearance. Sometimes I stare but just out of curiosity 😅.

Rating someone's appearance? Sooooo useless and superficial! We are attracted to very different kind of bodies (I myself don't have a "type") because getting to know the true nature of a person really matters to me.

I personally think that there's nothing wrong in showing off our bodies. @Benzo_king obviously takes time to train and I don't see why he has to hide it 😅 we can be proud of our bodies, no matter the shape! Our bodies keep us alive and I honestly see no difference between a gym bro or a chubby man/woman. It takes courage to be ourselves and more importantly not to judge others!!

It seems that such ratings only bear relevance - if any - for a teen/young adult audience. Taking proper care of one’s physical constitution is important. But as soon as children appear in your household, it becomes primarily a matter of survival to work out on a frequent basis. A 5 yo daughter who temporarily believes to be a ninja may jump from her bed straight on your neck. It is beneficial if your neck does not bend upon impact like a banana. Apparently there are also some health benefits to properly exercise often. But to exercise for ratings of know or unknown people seems as useful as trying to time travel by using a microwave.

I can't agree with you. Just be yourself

In general if people misread one of my comments and miss either nuance or a hint of irony, I just let it pass. But on this occasion I am starting to get worried that you may actually use a microwave to travel back in time!

Of course just be yourself - absolutely agree and never suggested otherwise. And please await the actual creation of a time machine before warping yourself to any given time of personal preference. 😉

We should be not ashamed of our bodies regardless of how do they look. I also do training but in my opinion nobody should expose themselves because that's inappropriate

Define "expose themselves". If we're talking about the pics on @Benzo_king in particular, do you genuinely think that he's exposing himself? What do you find inappropriate in those pics?

I think anyone who believes in ratings like this or spends time with them is childish and superficial and needs to grow up. I've met some quite old people who really should know better, but don't, sadly. What is attractive depends on the person looking. One person's hottie is another person's yuk. Some things of course are fairly universal, like the healthier the body looks, the more pleasing it is to most people. But healthy is a wide category.

Plus, there is only so much one can do to change what one was born with. Also aging changes us all and though money can buy ways to slow that down, it still happens. Some just get better cards in life and nothing that can be done about that. I think it's ok though to do what you can. Enjoying one's body and improving it can be a source of happiness and there's no reason not to engage in that, wearing nice clothes, make up if one wants to etc. But none of that is more important than evolving in kindness. That's the true measure of who's a better person and who's not.

Judgemental looks on other people's bodies are the worst. If something doesn't look right, maybe look at it with compassion rather than judgement and nastiness. That person who wears ragged clothes might be too poor to get better ones. The person who didn't shower before going to the store might be so exhausted they have to choose between showering and eating that day. Looks are no way to judge a person's worth.

The only thing where looks come into any sort of play is when looking for a romantic partner. There, it's important there's chemistry between the people. But that is in such large part a matter of taste that there is no way to do any general ideas. And who is compatible and who is not depends on so much more than looks!

Exposing is when you post thirst traps and that's what he does. However, I appreciate his training regime and I encourage him to continue with training for because of health, not because of selfies

what do you think makes nudity so bad? There can be non-sexual nudity and in any case, we all have a body, so what's so strange about it if it shows?

And I don't mean people should reveal more than they feel comfortable with, I'm usually pretty well covered because that's just the kind of a person i am, but I don't care if someone else reveals more skin than i do. It's nothing to me

Because it's rude. Where is the line? Can we all walk naked?

I also don't care too much how they will be dressed if it's in normal boundaries

Why would it be bad if some people were naked? Who gets to define what's normal?

Then go ahead, undress yourself completely and exit your house

Oh please., try to be serious. Why do you feel such aversion to nudity? If you get to cover up as much as you want, then why does it bother you if someone chooses differently?

I like to cover up and it's rare to see me even in t-shirt and shorts, never mind less than that, but it doesn't bother me if someone else wants to wear less and is comfortable that way.

People will never stop judging others for the way they look and decide to present themselves.

That's soooo sad to think about.

People are people( depeche mode)

Yuck 😂
