India, through the eyes of a painter

I was recently writing (yes, I write nonfiction on Wikipedia, in my mother-tongue Telugu) about an Indian-Hungarian female painter, Amrita Sher-Gill, I came across this quote of hers, and thought of sharing it here:

I can only paint in India. Europe belongs to Picasso, Matisse, Braque.... India belongs only to me.
