I think every person's appearance is beautiful, it depends on how we care for and style ourselves. There are things like makeup, grooming, fashion tricks, etc. Because actually mindset, charisma and aura are what make someone look more charming & glowing than they actually are. and these two things can be formed because of the attitude, manners, from learning by youtube video about how become confident, how to be charismatic, or read the book to hone our mindset, well many option we can do.
cause imo, it's all about how we show to other people. if we are confident, have self respect, self love, people would respect us, see us charming & attractive.
I once asked my boyfriend a question that was more or less the same, I asked why do you want to be in a relationship with me? because at that time I felt I was ugly, but he look so confused, cause in his eyes, i wasn't ugly at all, instead, I gave him a wow effect. eventhought at that time I just wear a black long sleeve turtle neck and jeans (yep, steeve jobs fav clothes lmao) he said that the wow effect because i look neat, My body smells good, my make up is good, and the most important thing for him is my assertive, cool but kind, and intelligent demeanor. That's why he wants to be with me. Because he said, he wouldn't date a pretty bad behaviour girl.
at first i don't believe him, like i believe that im not that attractive but from his consistency, he showing that he's telling the truth. that's why because of him, i even love myself better.
so.. is it physical appearance matters? it shouldn't be the only factors to get love, respect from people. Even though they are models, actresses and idols, they only follow market tastes. If you look at nowadays catwalk, advertisements and films, one by one the industries have started to break the chain by showing diversity and starting to change the discriminatory beauty standard (like should be light skinned, tall, skinny, etc) so, they add the model, including big size, autistic, down syndrome, disabled, small & petite models etc. they did that to share some awareness that everyone is pretty.
like this advertisement (the model is having down syndrome source, in social media like tiktok & instagram, she is so famous) victoria secrets (they hired plus sized & disabled model source, source) gillette (they hired plus sized model on their ads source) barbie (mattel make disable barbie doll and hire the model for adv source ) in movie like wicked (there are actress who disable, she is marissa bode, and a black actress who is cynthia erivo), in bridgerton there are plus sized actress (she is nicola coughlan), in new york fashion week (disable model are hired source), 'the help' movie (source) which got high rating (Most actresses and actors are black people, and plus sized), these are 100 people who are actually autistic (source), in marvel (like in black panther, most of actor & actress are black, in captain america: brave new world, antony mackie now a captain america, samuel l. jackson who starring as nick fury is a black person, lashana lynch a.k.a maria rembeau is a black person, etc) and many more example that you can search on google.
for some people they believe disabled, plus sized, black, autistic, down syndrome or people who don't fits the beauty standard are unattractive, but they success in their way and gain lot fans and respect from people.
well, it proved that it's only the matter of mindset and how you present yourself to the world (be confident, show self respect, self love, be positive & thoughtful person, talented, charismatic, etc)
