"The writer's job is the job of a clown, and the clown who also talks about sorrow."
Do you agree or disagree? Why or why not ?
Any thoughts or comments?
It depends. Is it ment for poutry ore book writers?
Well, most poutry writers seem to have more fun in what they writr then book writers, but i dont think i agree with this quote.
I agree. Writing a book is so much more difficult than it seems when you read a good book. You have to keep the reader interested with some funny or sad or other kinds of events, but you can't make it too much otherwise the readers build a tolerance and it's more difficult to keep them interested.
"The writer's job is the job of a clown, and the clown who also talks about sorrow." It's important for a writer to keep the book light if the book isn't supposed to be particularly sad, but a book without moments of doubt and sad events is just bland.
damn! i again get the feeling i misunderstood the question! for me this quote sounds like book and poutry writers are never serious, while they much times are!
In a way I'd agree with the statement. Agony is the constant companion of the clowns and writers since there is no greater agony than bearing an untold story or joke inside you. In another way I'd not agree with it. Clown is the bearer of the truth, he can speak the "unspeakable" with the mask of foolness, but writer is the bearer of the dreams, he can escape into "unthinkable" with the mask of multicharacters.

That's a wonderful explanation and interpretation of this quote. Thank you very much.
Could someone finally explain it to me?!?
